I don't know any details but glad for you. Pink and black peak 1 is a special kite IMO.
My absolute favorite inland buggy engine.

Happy JIBE'mas it is then. I just figured the President of the Janky Wind Club needed a little sumpin sumpin. Plus, Jason needed to sell something so
I just helped the whole thing along. A kite as nice as that one needed a home where it would get used with some frequency, something that just wasn't
happening in its former surroundings.
Completely agree with Sean on the superbness of the Peak series for inland buggy engines. I'll add to that lake Ivanpah engines as well. Technically
inland of course, but there is some darn nice clean wind there on many days. On my IBX trip earlier this year my Peak-2's saw far and away my most
usage and I had my entire quiver with me!
Enjoy my friend, enjoy.

You'll have to beware of the peak haters though. Their numbers few but their disdain for the kite can come out when you least expect it. I advise
keeping an eye on your kite at events. You never know when one will pop up.
Edit: only kidding. Not trying to cast any negativity on this thread.

I was just as humbled Spencer!! I can only imagine your face when you pulled her out of the box . A huge gesture of kindness from Steve. Enjoy my friend. She is a minty hot pink beauty as you can see... I know
you will give her the attention she deserves. . I am hoping to expand
another FB quiver soon , so yeah it worked out for everyone.
You should fall right into the Peak already being a NS pilot. You will go nuts over how much power it dumps. Unlike any other I've flown.
Only advice is to not kink the stiffeners when rolling it up. Feyd has a real good pack-up video and other Peak 1 porn.
Now time for some pics of her maiden Georgia flights.

It takes some time smoothing out the action and dialing in how it likes to be flown. Really different feel going from fb and nasa stars but it's
gonna be great

Funny thing I noticed today, I have a vague memory with my Montana, there was literally NO turning control of the kite with it flagged out ... Is this
a Peak thing or an all Depower kite thing?

You mean bar pushed away in the depowered position? The peak handles and turns best with the bar pulled all the way to half way pulled in. When in
motion it will handle better through its full range but static I usually in powered to mostly powered bar position. You also have 2 trim settings that
you have to land to adjust. Which is your on now?

Unlike most depowers that speed up when you let the bar out, the peak will speed up only to the point it starts to flutter hard and slows back down.
Finding the sweet spot is key. This less than fluid action with bar out is what helps with its effective depower range but also what some do not care
for versus a standard dp foil. I prefer maximum depower to maximum performance in my gusty stuff so I prefer it.

Sort of. What the third line does on Steffen's NPWs is scrunch the nose up on the kite. A little nose scrunching and the kite will fly with less pull
because of inefficiencies in the resultant shape; quite a bit of nose scrunching and the kite will sort of crumple and really reduce power (good way
to land the kite in high winds for example); too much nose scrunching and you can invert the kite and end up with some nasty bridle tangles. There is
a little plastic slider on the third line to dial this in depending on kite size. Usually NS owners learn the hard way not to ignore this adjustment
if they actually use the third line for landing or pull the emergency chicken loop free.
When cooking along while buggying for example it can be a challenge to deploy the DP aspect of the kites for purposes of scrubbing power. This action
will make the kite fly somewhat poorly and will drop it farther and farther backwards in the wind window. More than a few times I've tried this to ill
effect since the kite dropped back, hit the ground behind me, then I reduced the tension on the third line, only to have the kite reinflate and rocket
forward again in the window with all its FB glory. Not the best situation.
All in all for buggying I've found the third line best suited for landing the kite and for emergency deployment of the safety system but not so
effective for DP.

I was about to answer this, but it looks like Steve beat me to the punch.
Yea, the short answer is yes but not really... The third line changes the shape of the kite to decrease the power, so it "depowers" but not in the
same sense as a kite that changes it Angle of Attack.
The third line acts better as a safety for a very powerful 2 line FB... So not a TRUE depower.

Yea I kinda figured this out... The bar all the way out and it was loud and fluttery with virtually no control, almost a quarter (or less) of the way
in it stopped fluttering and a had better control but still a little pull, 1/2-3/4 of the way in and it was well powered up and fully controllable
(got yanked a few inches off the ground in a gust here), full in and it stalled out... I think that is pretty standard for a depow, yes?

Speaking only with P2 v P1 experience I think you have it just right. As you know, you are going to want to get moving to appreciate how the kite
behaves. Another nice feature which you will likely soon appreciate is that pushing the bar out during light wind is a nice way of keeping the kite
aloft during lulls. You will stop rolling in your buggy, but the kite won't be on the ground. The wind picks back up and you simply pull the bar in
a bit, drop the kite down from up high down through the wind window and power works back up and off you go!
Bottom line, don't judge the kite's performance from your static flying; it will behave a lot different once you get moving.

When the gust hit, just let the wind take the bar out. It takes a little getting used to. Hanging on is only natural. If the wind was not strong
enough and the bar was eeked all the way in, yes it will stall. Steve described it perfectly about letting it flutter some in lulls. It will almost
auto climb lol.
Glad you got her up today bud!
