WANTED for Father's Day: Kite Squire

With Father's Day coming up this weekend I have come to realize that there are a few things that money can buy that I really want. Probably like a lot of households out there in PKF land, we are big fans of Game of Thrones on HBO. Love that series! Anyway, after two wonderful days in a row of getting some outstanding kite skating action in under blue skies, clean cut grass, and brisk winds necessitating my trusty 6m Peak-2 I've come to realize that I spend all too much time setting up my kite and lines, armoring up, putting on my skates, and then reversing everything at the back end of what becomes much too short a session.

So.... for Father's Day I want a..... KITE SQUIRE! :karate:

What do others want for Father's Day?

That would be nice for sure. They could also be a camera man which would be handy for videos.

Nice. I had to look up Ms. Hazell and fortunately did so via Google Images. The expression "Go Big or go home" came to mind....

I too want little to do with Brienne of Tarth. It's her squire Podrick Payne that I'm after. Not the brightest of stars shining in the Heavens, but able, earnest and completely capable of setting out my kite and lines, packing them up again after my session, helping me don my Plastic Courage and lace up my skates. Come to think of it, a dandy thing my Kite Squire would do is stand at the ready with the next size up and down of the kite I launch. I normally know if I've chosen right about 15 seconds into the session. A dutiful squire could dash out with the larger or smaller kite at once with just a shout from me, roll it out and off I'd go! He'd of course deal with the pesky discarded kite. :karate:

While not a regular GOT viewer... I couldn't help but think.. the entire mythos of Game of Thrones and you want..... a squire.

I would forgo help donning and doffing gear or other gear related tasks in favor of ..... a flight of dragons (the larger ones).

  • To bolster lulls in the wind
  • To melt noisome drones into molten slag
  • To warn of approaching park rangers when flying in parks after they have closed for the winter.

Oh.... a side order of a pack of direwolves for ground based annoyances would be nice too.

ATB,
Sam

Well played Sam, well played. I guess I am but a simple man with simple needs.

There have been some interesting liberties taken in the HBO version of the GOT saga compared to the books. While Danny's (Khaleesi) body is resistant to flames her hair is not and she looses her hair each time she purposely gets burned. Not so on the show where her beautiful (dyed) blond locks stay perfectly intact.

While the dragons would be awesome, I particularly like the idea of the direwolf as protector of the playa! Outstanding suggestion.

Game of thrones is awsome it has a very good story line specially with magic.
Best thing would be having a few riders on boards and having the Dragon pull them like a big kite would be awsome :p
I think everyone watches game of thrones for the mellons that sometimes appear in the show.

The idea of a kite squire is a pretty good one specially when well your lines are mest up and having to walk all the way back to the kite to streighten them out sucks.
