Thunder Wing What?
I was complaining about sellers remorse for selling my 4.6m NPW. I don't think my street kiting days are totally behind me. :smug:
Dirtslide was kind enough to GIVE me a New Tech Thunder Wing :bouncing::bouncy::bouncing:
I can only find the Thunder Foil online?
This one is called the Danger and says it's 60" ? It looks about the same size as my old 4.6m Seems like New Tech is a Chinese knock off company.
Has anybody got experience with this kite? Looks like an NPW 5 knock off to me but I don't know much about NPW in general.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

A lot of its but, If 60 inches is the length of the center panel and its is a NPW 5 then it is probably about 2.7 m. Can you post a picture?

Good your thinking about "streetkite"
If it is a 2.7m that's a great size to have.

Do you have any pictures? The New Tech Kites that builds the Thunderfoil is not a Chinese knock off company.
Dodd Gross (doddg on PKF) used to work with them before migrating to Skydog kites.

I have a 1.2 thunder foil. I don't know if it's a knockoff but it is a fun kite and seems to be of good quality. I also have a new tech stunt kite.
It was my first multi line kite and it drug me into the world of power kites. Literally! Haha. I love that thing. It will always have a home in my
quiver. If new tech is a Chinese knockoff company then I say they have done one hell of a job.

I will try and get a picture but skimtwashington's picture is of the right series of kite. Mine looks just like the black, blue, green one.
The bag says they have 3 sizes on it. Caution 30", Warning 45" and mine the Danger at 60" . When I laid it out in the park it looked similar in size
to the HQ 4.6m I regret having sold.

Finally found a listing archived on Worthpoint for an eBay listing for a Thunder Wing.
If you want info on the kite, Rob Cembalest would be a good person to reach out to his is a manager at NTK and active on the GWTW forum. If you want,
I can forward a query to him if you aren't on and don't want to register on GWTW.
"NEW - Newtech ThunderWing Warning - 45 Inch wingspan - this is a quad line NASA style power kite, comes with foam grip quad line handles made with
that special bend for NASA wing style kites, also included is a NewTech Infinity spectra quad line set (150# x 100 feet) (4 line set) presleeved. This
is a very fun and relaunchable quad line kite you can stunt for hours, no breaking parts so it is great for learning quad line flying. The k ite can
also be used by attaching bridle lines directly to handle lead lines and or with very short lines .. with very short lines the kite is great for using
with roller blades, skiis, ice skates and even kite buggies. A great kite to carry as a high wind emergency kite when kite buggy riding on large
desert dry lakes. In the picture of me on roller blades I'm using the large Thunderwing 60, the Thunderwing 45 I used more often as in winds over
10mph the 60 size is too much power. It is easy to use this kite on 2 foot long lines with blades or even snow skiis on ice."

That's IT !
The reference to dry lakes makes sense. Ken won it at NABX. Now I need to get down to the sea wall and see how this runs. I will need to give it a go
at an odd hour since the paths are busy at this time of year.
Thanks every time Sam!

Yup....
I believe I have the 2 bigger ones- Warning and Danger.
Again..... the Danger is likely only 2.5 meters..give or take a quarter meter.?
I have bigger 3.5 and 6.5 meter NPW5 kites.
All my NPW used on short lines..1-7.5 meters.
I use My NPW kites for riding small areas w/ limited room or launch( but has good wind), where there is some public 'traffic' (yet room for short
line), Parking lot at beach(cold or off season day)...Night riding(kite is closer to see!), wet weather riding (few times anyway), Packing in to
remote winter lake on ski tour(not yet)...

Caution 30, Warning 45, Danger 60. Wonder what they would call a 75 or 100? :D

The 75 & 100 " would be named Catastrophe and Annihilation perhaps..
I guess Pocket Parasol Powerhouse is too 'soft' and too many words....

I own a New-Tech kite, it is called the Spirit. It is a cross between the HQ Mojo and a Rev. It is purple and black and looks like the Batman symbol.
Fun little quad line toy. It doesn't fly nearly as well or as fast as a Rev, but it has some cool standoff spars in the back so you can land it and
keep it parked on the ground without a stake.

You folks were right about it being smaller than I expected. Way too small for the light winds we had last Sunday.

I would think it's around 2.5 ? Not bigger than 3.
What really sucks is that some little trees that were no issue when I used to use our sunset beach parking lot have grown! They are big enough now
that I suspect they will mess up the winds even in winter?
Pesky trees . :ticking:

I know what you mean. I've noticed the once small trees at my park getting bigger to the point they will be a problem in a year or so.
