Looking for foil kite. 8-10m

I'm looking for a low wind kite for land and water. I live in upstate New York and wind at normal is 6knots. On the lake it's gets more. I have a 6m cabrinha c kit that I can't get lot launch. Hit me up with sales or ideas. Thanks

8 or 10m will not get you going on water in 6knts. You'd probably need something in the 15-17 range to get up in that. What are you doing with it on land? Certainly look for a sle, they get much more power per meter than c kites.

Kites:
HQ: Rush V Pro 350, Apex IV 5.5m, Montana VII 7m, Montana VIII 10m & 14m
Ozone access XC 4m, access v7 4m, access v6 12m, Frenzy 07 7.5m, Frenzy 9m
FlySurfer Speed 4 Lotus 21m, Speed 4 9m, Unity 6, & 10m, Psycho 3 13m

GI Patrol 106, skis? yup lots, snowboards? Couple of those too

Here is a thread that almost matches your request from last week. It his slanted because the pilot also wants to learn to street kite.
http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=32494 See his other thread " got it in the air " for more insight.

The bottom line is that depower kites and sub 6kt winds aren't an easy match. An 8 - 10m won't fly if you can't force a 6m to. 8 - 10 is more for med. to high winds. With 6kt winds I need my 19m and lots of room to work apparent wind. I am a light weight. Static flying that beast in those winds is better described as struggling to keep it flying.

Even if you can build your skills trying to ride on water in 6kt winds is way more struggle than joy. Combining a huge foil kite and foil board has become the only effective / fun way to ride those winds but that takes skills I don't have. Similar on land. Mowing the lawn leaves me feeling like I have had sex without climax. Lots off work and a bit of fun but it doesn't get me off ( of the ground ).

Closed cell foils and arcs transfer to water BUT ..... Even with land skills you WILL crash a lot transitioning to water. Closed cell kites don't re-launch as easy as many inflatables off water adding to the struggles. Arcs have the unique quality of " auto zenith ". This is a small advantage when learning to handle your board out on the water but the difficult re-launch outweighs that IMHO.

I suspect that this 6m Cabrina C kite you have is a very old model you got at what seemed like a very good deal. It will lack in depower and have an old style safety. It will need so much wind to produce power that it will spank you quicker than you can react once it does. What year and model is this C kite?

It seems like you are somewhat close to a few members. I suggest you concentrate on meeting up with them and getting some local knowledge. If you can find your way down to Wildwood for their fall gathering the education will be priceless.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

I've got an 11m ozone frenzy I'm trying to sell before I leave the country. Price reduced to $400. Kite in like new condition. Flown under 10x bar and lines used 3 times.
