new productivity toy
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
My new sit stand desk- just finished assembly last night and this is my first day working while standing- gotta say I think I am gonna like it. Yeah
I know nothing to do with kiting but know that a few of you have "desk" jobs and might be interested. My reason was my back (yeah still hurts every
once in awhile- guess that happens when you freefall 25 feet because wind died) and also thought it would be nice to change it up a little in the
office

the other toy- more my normal speed
[img] [/img]
notice the motor and battery- have done 42 miles an hour on it and general cruising on flats will do ~30mph carrying my fat ass
with pedaling in my area (hilly) I can go about 25 miles with avg speed of 18 mph. or if I want to just play around throttle only will give me about
11 miles @ 20 mph. Is a beast off road did a 15 mile single track ride (with pedaling) but was able to keep up with Andrew on the climbs 8-9 mph vs
my normal 3-4 mph on the climbs. Has really made riding fun again- I have ridden 350 miles in the last 8 weeks vs the bike only saw about 100 miles
in its first 6 yrs

Is it hydraulic? :D If not that could be a cool project. The desk not the bike.
Cool bike btw. Is that a kit or did you come up with that yourself?

Any more info about the bike power pack and drive train. I've considered getting an alternative to my car and this electric bike looks interesting.
What kinda of range can you get out of it before a recharge or having to pedal it like a normal bike?

I need to get a standing desk. I sit way to much when doing design work and feel like crap when I get home.

no it is done on linear actuators (3 of them) and can lift almost a 1000lbs. I looked at piecing it together and building it myself but was easier to
just get it already packaged and just assemble vs fabricating- when I priced it out the fabricating would have only saved me about $250 which really
was not worth the extra time or effort to do.

@off- it is the perfect commuter vehicle- with my setup bbshd motor and 11.5 AH 52v battery I can ride one way to work ~14 miles, never break a real
sweat and still have about 40% left in the battery (I bought an extra charger to top off the battery at work) also I have it setup for off road-
turning it into a commuter (skinny slick tires) everything gets much better as far as efficiency. Just be ready for a little sticker shock- Good
batteries are expensive. Check out luna cycles.com

Boosted V2 board looks like a beast. But I don't live in the city where it is more ideal to commute with.
My commute is 20 miles one way with a big hill in the middle of it. Thanks for the info.

Scotty, I ashamed of you... motors on a bike..... pffft
Get some of this. Start slowly if you have to, but that motor is not doing you any good.

I hit a PB on my bicycle this year....43.9 mph (no motor, but a good hill), cranking at 139 RPMs. I have a 110 mile ride next weekend (I'm the
motor). Cheezy, I didn't know you cycled.....we should do a ride sometime.
Off...I've been looking at the evolve GT's (Bamboo AT). Looks cools....very pricey though.

@ cheezy- Its FLAT where you live- when i lived near the beach riding was easy a flat land century is no big deal- i have done several even did a few
in the mtns when i moved here- but i dont have the time or desire to ride enough that i can do the rides i like without hacking up a lung or feeling
that my heart might explode after a big climb- the motor eliminates those worries and allows me to have fun on my bike again. Yeah i thought it was
cheating at first too- then i rode it:D. i put the motor on a bike that was six years old and had been ridden maybe a total of 100 miles- add motor
make fun again (yes i still have to pedal and work- if i want) and i have put 386 miles on the bike in about 2 months

Cheezy- please you used the word Valley. My last ride was 21 miles with an avg speed of 17 mph and had 2 climbs that were at 6.5% grades and climbed
a total of 1500 ft in elevation. When i ride my road bike i generally ride about 11 mph but usually only ride around 12-15 miles and it just aint as
fun

@volock- yes standover is an issue have smashed the family jewels twice now- i miss measured when i bought the battery and thought it would fit on the
downtube but obviously did not. If i can sell off some of my gear i am going to get a different battery that will fit in the triangle and be a little
larger still 52v but a 14ah battery at 7.5 lbs.
@ab- that is not normal dress for work but with redoing my opffice i was a little more casual- normal attire is dress pants and buttondown.
