New to the USA

Hi folks,
I have not long been in the USA.
I am still waiting for my kites and buggies to turn up from the UK.
I am now living in Sandy, Utah.
Hopefully I will be able to find some nice spots for some buggy time.

All the best

Woody

Hey Slapbasswoody! Cool username by the way. Welcome to the US, and more specifically, to the wonderful fly-over state of Utah. I for one hope most (but not all) folks continue to fly right on by. I live uphill from you in Park City. It would be great to meet you and get some riding in together. Do you snowkite as well? There is some outstanding snowkiting here. Should also mention that Ken with WindofChange also lives in Greater SLC. Good dude and he has a kiting store too so he will likely become a good, close by connection for you too.

Ken has mentioned a good buggy space a couple miles West of SLC near I-80 out near Toole. Maybe we could gather a small group of us out there sometime. Coming up in the near term I am going to be meeting up with Paul (Jeepersjoey) down at Lake Ivanpah for a couple of days of buggy bliss right before Thanksgiving. You now live within a six hour drive of one the best buggy locations IN THE WORLD. If you could join us then that would be fantastic. Otherwise, come to IBX2017!

My local buggying has been on athletic fields around Park City maintained by Basin Recreation. I always feel on borrowed time but so far so good. There are lots of users for the fields so it is sort of hit or miss.

Thank you for the welcome everyone.
My son and I both buggy and have raced a little.
I would love to try out some snow kiting but we only have fixed bridle kites at the moment. I have been looking at getting a couple of chronos for playing around with.
if anyone wants to add me on fb please feel free to do so

I only use fixed bridal on snow/ice ( as well as buggy and roller blades). Been working just fine on the frozen lakes.

So you have gear to snow kite with already , just not the safety(release) or ease for some, of a depower kite.

Hey Woody. I live down in Henderson Nevada. While you might just be as far away from beach riding as you can get, Utah has world class snow kiting to offer.

Windstruck is not overselling how amazing Ivanpah is either. Riding there will change much of what you know about buggying. When people come to ride, I try my best to join in so keep us posted and panics in late March for IBX. We'd love to get to know you and ride with you.

Yup...going to Ivanpah for Thanksgiving and you are invited

Steve (windstruck) and I will be out there for Thanksgiving.

When Beemer Bob says it is the best...we all have to agree with him.

I am driving 16 hrs from Denver just to ride out there. Heck, I don't even take my buggy out local anymore since I have been spoiled at Ivanpah.

Definitely the place to be, come Thanksgiving and Easter!

I hope to see you out there in a month!
