I just pulled a "Crazy Eddy" and dropped the prices. The 4m and 9m are now at less than 40% original price to reflect their professional repair work,
the 12m is also at less than 40% to reflect the rubber scraping on the bar, and the 6m is at less than 45% with no visible issues. Somebody needs a
"me" day! :D

Always wanted to try the Peaks!
So I'm totally hooked on streetkiting with my Nasa Stars. My most used size for my inland conditions is the 5.5 and 7.0.
What size of Peak 2 would be best to fill that range. Take in mind, I streetkite on asphalt on a skateboard (longboard type) so there is basically
almost no rolling resistance.
Also, does it sit back in the window or is it more forward flying? Can you sheet in/out to change the location (back or forward) and if so, does it
negatively impact the wing (deformation)?
Last question, can you run it on short lines (5m and 10m)?

Pete - The Peak series would make for a first rate street kite. I've flown my peaks off of handles as well as short lines (5 and 7m). A DP kite on
handles is pretty funky if you are used to flying FB kites on handles because you sort of have to do the opposite thing with the handles (bringing the
bottom of the handles backward with a FB applies the brakes and decreases power but this action is akin to pulling in the bar for a DP so power is
increased). The smaller peaks (4m and 6m) fly great on shorter lines but I haven't tried the larger ones.
For your application I'd say the 6m Peak2 would put you in the range of the NASA stars, maybe a little on the light side. The 9m would probably be
more aligned pull wise but would be more kite to handle on short lines I'd think. Most folks swear by the 6m as the ideal size for your application.
I did some kite skating with both NASA Stars and Peaks last summer. I greatly preferred the Peaks because of the ability to bleed off power with the
DP. FB puts you sort of in the hands of the wind gods and an increase in wind strength can get you into trouble if it happens at just the wrong time.

Hi Nate - I bet Strawberry would be sweet with our current (deep) snow pack. I can't speak for their totals, but our local ski hill, Deer Valley, has
posted about 9 ft. of snow since January 1st. I can vouch for it and have shoveled every inch of it off our back deck and surrounding walkways
(thankfully a service plows our driveway).
Alas, my snowkiting and kite skating days are behind me. In a pact with my bride after my accident this past summer I agreed to retire from those two
sports, focusing exclusively instead on buggying with one of Jeff's (bigkid) AQRs installed, and of course telemark skiing which is awesome in case
you haven't tried it.
For buggying I really love the Peaks so I'm selling off some used gear to buy some new gear. Great American Consumer!
I trust you've had some great days in CO!

Not to hijack, but did you ever try snow kiting with your telemark gear? I got rid of my alpine skis and now only use telemark skis at the resort.
I've been thinking of tying out snow kiting but am leary...

Whoa... a drive by shooting!!! Sure you don't want to pick up a used P2 while we're chatting?
I'm pretty much exclusively free-heeling too, having converted over midway through last season and now going whole-hog this year. Free your heels and
the rest will follow....
I know Chris Krug of Hardwater fame is also a free-heeler and has used such a setup with kites on ice. I don't see any real reason why it wouldn't
work just find except in a couple of rare situations. As you no-doubt are aware it is perfectly possible to make strong alpine-style turns with
modern tele gear. I try to link my turns with a dropped knee but will revert to heels-down turning in tricky spots. As I get better I need to do
this less and less. Expert alpine skier; advanced intermediate at tele.
I could see situations snowkiting when I'd want me heels clamped in just to avoid getting pulled over the handlebars by the kite. That being said I
had some pilot error moments last season when I got pulled over like this in alpine gear so go figure. On ice or other low resistance snow I'd think
it would work great to tele snowkite. Maybe deep damp snow would be an issue, but maybe not. If I were still snowkiting I'd try and tele, setting an
edge alpine-style for the long hauls and then dropping my knee for the turns. Hairball turns would be with heels down.
Go for it. You know, right after you buy one of my kites! :frog:

I totally would buy the 6m but currently funds are going terrors setting up a AQR and possibly replacing/upgrading my harness.
I switched to Tele because I always enjoyed watching it and my daughter is young and learning. Great time for me to learn. I default to alpine
turns, I'm better Tele turning one way than the other but getting better all the time.
My wife laughs when I see a telemark skier and say under my breath " weirdo telemark freak" and she reminds me that I'm the freak...But I love it.
I'll leave you with the video below and then....

Dude can slay the snowfield that's for sure. I've seen a couple of videos of him before and each totally impresses. I've got one pair of skis with
telesetup that are sort of twintipped (Skilogik Rockstars) and they would be the skis I'd try this on. Actually it doesn't look too bad (famous last
words) because being switch your toe piece is now in back keeping you for going over the handlebars. What could possibly go wrong?

Wow Steve, I really wish I had the money for that 12m, but alas, I cannot... I've thought about replacing my NS3 quiver with just the minty fresh 6m
P1 you gifted me and a 12m, but I just have been too concerned that i wouldn't be able to raise the funds for a 12m... maybe... just maybe

Steve,
Obviously you have hacked my iPad notes app. Jan. 1. 2017:
Born order possibles......
Z and pro lines and bar are EU 167.88
Needed regardless of kite.
Kites added to order as follows:
313.88 with the 4 m blue yellow kite only
329.57 US dollar
433.88 with the 4 m and the 2.5 meter kite
455.57 US dollar
600.88 with 5,4,2.5 kites! A quiver for a novice.
630.92 converted to dollars.
Shipping between 30 and 60 approx.
The big deal is de power. Research all the review / videos to see if the kite can react to gusts. Keep the window size in mind.
If some thing won't click look at peak 6m 800.00 new in yellow and black.
De power foils seem to need a little more launch wind compared to fixed bridle foils in the same size except the Peak single skin.
Unquote.
I will buy the 6. I always wanted a yellow kite.
