Sail Tape/ Repair question
Hey guys, one of my Peaks has a pinhole in it and I want to put a little patch of sail tape on it. Am I correct the correct kind of sail tape to get
is Nylon, not Dacron... or does it matter? Been kiting for 5 years now and have not had to do this as of yet.
Is this stuff correct? : http://intothewind.com/Item--i-483

I get most of my kite material and kite material repair supplies from goodwinds.com. They have everything from colored nylon tape, to Mylar tape, to
Dacron tape. Remember to round the corners of the patch so it doesn't peal off after it's been applied. I recommend making the repair on both sides of
the material. The Mylar tape sticks better than the nylon. Remember to clean the area before applying the patch.
For single skin kites like the peel or lei kites I recommend sail tape from a marine store. Camping world has a great product called RV awning repair
tape that is clear and a bit flexible which has repaired a few major blowouts on a couple fix bridles that lost a few cells with a 4 foot tear.
I carry repair tape in my kite bag, never know if or when youll need a bandaid for your kite.

Working on it for 2018, got to get some stuff tucked away before the trip. I wish it was 2 weeks between WBB and Jibe. Then I could spend them in OBX.
This time I'm stopping to visit Grave Digger and fly at Kill Devil, and spend a few days at Hatteras.
Thanks Spencer, 2 weeks isn't going to be enough......
Now I can't wait to go again, sure would be good to see most of you guys again,
Does the sheriff still hide under the bridge as you leave the island? He was awfully nice to me last time along with the 2 guys that wrote on my truck
with white shoe polish and then tried to cover it up with toilet paper. Eating at the Waffle House, the BBQ at the campground, now I'm getting hungry.
I'm so excited, hope I can sleep tonight.:singing:

I used this for my venomII that had a small cut. The clear tape blended into the green fabric pretty well and it is still holding fine. Round the
corners of your patch to help it to stick better.
