Site looks legit, but I fully agree with Jeff. IMHO, PKF is first a site to share amongst fellow kite enthusiasts the joys, pitfalls, and questions
that arise from the pursuit of traction kiting. A distant second is the commerce aspect. A little easing in goes a long way. No, we don't need to
joke about that last comment.

A full quiver of venoms with 2 bars.....450.00
If I wasn't set on single skins right now or had extra cash I might investigate.
If there is a hook it's tempting bait. Especially including a little used 10m.

Interesting concept? Please tell us more.
It looks like you are creating something like Trivago for kite gear? Using some kind of engine to search multiple sites for specific gear? Who do you
search???? I see a lot of dealer stuff / Ebay + Ikitesurf stuff? If that is how it works do you get permission from these websites to link to their
for sale sections? Are you linking to OURS?????????
As folks have mentioned, while we have a very good for sale section this forum is about sharing information 1st. You will get a LOT more respect if
you introduce yourself and answer a few questions.

Ed - stop! Don't fall into the trap of going broke saving money! You have built a fine quiver. Time to put on the brakes and really get to know the
kites you do own. Plenty of time to modify the quiver in the years to come AFTER you've worn out the kites you already own.

I have comfortably bought and sold a lot of pairs of skis on eBay but would personally be distinctly uncomfortable selling a kite to somebody I
haven't gotten comfortable with on PKF.

Hi there,
thanks for your feedback so far and sorry for not introducing me. I am Jan a 33 year old Kitesurfer from Hamburg Germany.
I started the German version of this website two years ago and now thought it would be awesome to have a international version.
Your question is whether it is allowed to link to the websites like eBay for exanple from my website. And I am glad to tell you that linking is
allowed. Websites like Facebook and twitter for example highly depend on linking other websites and they do not ask for permission on the linked
website.
Sorry for the noise and not introducing myself.
Kind regards
Jan

Jan, thank you for the introduction, congratulations on your success to date in Europe, and best of luck with your international expansion.
Can you please directly respond to the question posed as to whether you plan (or perhaps already do) link specifically to PKF's For Sale and Wanted
sections? Thanks in advance for your reply.

@windstruck- I think it is a great idea to open the audience for stuff that we may be selling on PKF- it is the sellers decision about who they decide
to sell to- but if you are selling something - I for one would love to have a larger audience and find more prospective buyers- although I think I
have sold all the kite stuff I plan on at the moment. And I agree that PKF is a nice tight community that I have enjoyed being part of for many years
it has been getting noticeably smaller over the last few years. realize it is just a link- I think if you put a specific search in google - it will
show for sale links in PKF as well so why not have it consolidated.
@getakite- thanks for putting something like this together I think it helps everyone that likes to swap gear over time

Seems like a lot of unwelcome inquiries might result. Maybe even some objection to sending money to strangers without legal recourse. IPman style. On
the other paw it's another place to look, and that's the gift Ms Pam was probably trying to give us, yes?
Also.
Thanks Auntie Steve, I'm not buying twin skins yet. I'm not done with single skins. Waiting with a worm on my tongue (baited breath) to hear how you
like the Longstreet new.

I get your point. But then a car seller might also worry when he sells his car to someone who freshly got his driver license?
The forum is public and can also be searched by for example google or any other search engine.

I use google to find things in the forum myself, it's my way to find the bits without going through a whole thread. In fact it's how I found y'all in
the first place.
If we want blocking on our search engines we have to move to Red China. For now anyway.

Business is business, a sport is a sport. You can't have it both ways, or can you?
Get a kite is in it for the money, not the sport. That was obvious from his first post. If it was a sport to him he would've said hi I'm new to this
and want to say howdy or whatever. But instead he says I want to make money.
Sell to who ever you want, or don't want. I don't regret any deal I did or didn't do. If I want to buy and sell without any responsibility I will use
eBay. If I care about any part of the sport I would deal one on one. Hard to teach someone how to fly when I'm running to the bank.
Business or sport? You can only love one or the other. You can't serve 2 masters.
Interesting post, good read, did anyone read the fine print about security and personal info? A better question might be "who cares?"

Not entirely true, I am a part of at least two other forums that have basic requirements for access to the Buy/Sell/Trade sections. One requires that
you be a registered member. The other required that you be a registered member and have 15 non-trivial posts.
To the best of my knowledge, because the B/S/T is part of the respective websites that requires logging in, they are not "spidered/indexed" by Google.

Maybe not. Wonder how come we have a page rank of 3/10.?
Also we are a first page search for post info in for sale, and all the informational pages including personal profile "mood statements". There are
spiders searching every day and bots at work.
Because of the update frequency we are likely crawled more than once a day?
3/10 is my sites rank with all the SEO I can muster personally.
Please to explain to a simple country boy from North Carolina?
I was referring to blocking of google itself, and YouTube especially, in Communist China and the consequential popularity of VPN's to subvert this
censoring. It's hard to lock people out of a free internet and the linking to various sites. No?

Thanks for the follow up Jan.
I get what you are doing and see how it can be useful. As far as what site you link to I think any forum that doesn't have built in blocking should be
legal to use?
I think BigKid missed the part in your reply that explained how you are a kiteboarder who saw a way to make life easier when searching for your own
gear. I am not clear how you would be making money off of this venture but if you are pulling in a nickel then balls on you! Something tells me this
little project isn't taking away from your kite time and I'm SURE it's not allowing you to retire and kite full time. Fly them on Sunday, Sell them on
Monday!!!
I can see why some members would prefer you didn't link to us. This forum is kind of unique in that we take the buying and selling of kites a bit
more serious than others. As I see it your site would expose our gear sales to more " outsiders ". Most of the sellers on here are more interested in
getting their gear in the right hands than making money. This makes for some amazing deals but ....... many of our sellers may offend your customers.
Sort of the seller questioning the buyer rather than the other way around. Most of us will turn a buyer down (this puts them off ) if we don't think
our kite is what they need. Throw in our oddball way of trusting each other with all sorts of payment methods and we have seen our share of unhappy "
outsiders " .
That said, You have stumbled on possibly the best source for land based gear in North America. If you intend to link to us I suggest you contact the
administrator. Bob aka Doomwheels is very open to dealerships and such sharing information on here. WE, the members LOVE them for their up to date
information and reviews!!!! It is just not intended to be a commercial space for them.
