Cell phone work on Elmers and in Primm. I do know that if you go to Superior you do not have cell service there.

Verizon Broadband

My Verizon Broadband card worked well from Ivanpah and Elmer's, and anywhere that cell phone access is available.

Fran,
I have been able to "tether" my blackberry to my laptop via bluetooth so that i can use the phone to get the laptop online from anywhere.
If you have a data account with your provider, you should be able to do this as well.
I use cingular, but know that it is also available from Verizon.
You might want to activate it before going to the Playa. If not, feel free to use my hookup if you want to.
