PKD Buster 0.7m

would this kite be a good 4line one to let my 6.y.o. kid play with in light winds.

it seems to be the smallest kite with 4 lines I have seen on the web.

where to buy in Canada, os US ?

All three of my kids can now fly the 0.7m Buster I solo, I've put it on a bar so it's more familiar to them, it's similar to them riding a bike/tricycle. The 7yr old has it nailed, the 6yr old is almost there, the 4yr old can make it for about 1-2 min before his attention goes elsewhere. The 6yr old and 7yr old have used it to get rolling down wind in the buggy as well.

The one thing I'd suggest and I did it to mine, remove the rear lines, this will do two things, it keeps the kids from accidentally applying the brakes, and it reduces drag, the kites are built strong enough for an adult to buggy with in stupid winds, when in light wind the drag on the brake lines will partially apply the brakes reducing the kites flying performance, I removed the back lines and simply hooked the brake bridals on the kite to the main flying lines in the same larks head knot that attaches the flying lines to the kite's bridal. They stay a little slack but out of the way so they won't tangle anything.

By doing this you won't be able to reverse launch the kite, but it flies so much better it's worth it. The kite's so small that it has trouble reverse launching in anything but strong winds anyways. Safety's not a problem, the kite doesn't exactly build any real power in light winds, even if the kids let go the bar/handles will fly maybe 5 ft before it ends up on the ground with the kite on the ground in a ball.

On the plus side, I have a basement full of the small busters, 0.7m, 1.4m, 2m, and 3m, all being blown out to make room for new stock. If you can't find a local shop with some in stock then drop me a PM.

0.7m / 1.4m / 2.0m PKD Buster I

thanks for the info.

I finally got a used IMP 1.0m for a bargain price locally here.

And the 2 lines + bar will be easier for the kid

I did fly it myself in ~15knots. it was fun.
