hey all i currently buggy using handles on mix of flexi bullets and hq beamers but looking into depower kites.
i have a 05 ozone frenzy 10m which i am aware will give to much lift and i will change in time.
can anyone suggest me depower options around 6m as i flew a friends 6m ozone access and really liked it.
looking cheap if possible as being fairly new im likely to crash it! been reading up but unsure on best route to go so any advice from more
experienced flyers would be most appreciated.
I got an HQ Neo 8m RTF $200 plus shipping. The Neo is a closed cell kite. I granted it's not an ozone. But it's cheap and if you destroy it you'll
still have a good bar and line set. Just throwing it out there.
6m Flysurfer Peak 1's are going for a great price... you get a lot of bang for your bucks too. The useable range is pretty good especially on the
beach... love mine!!!
Always on the steep part of the learning curve.
Gin Shaman2 6m, 12m
Flysurfer Peak1 6m, Peak2 9m,Peak4, 3m
Misc. other kites, never getting out of their bags.
Riding a Libre Fullrace with an AQR on the beach
Riding a Blokart inland when gust factor > 4
And a couple Manta Singles for friends to ride.
Flysurfer Peaks (V1, V2, or V3) are great first DPs for buggying. Very little lift and great cruisers. You mentioned liking the Access which is a low
AR flying mattress of sorts. I've owned them and liked them, but would say that they are so low AR that the bigger ones are pretty unresponsive to
fine control. I personally think the Access shines in the 6m and 8m sizes as higher wind options.
Utahtami is selling a 12m Peak-2 right now on the forum (link below). Not exactly in the size range you suggested, but as many would attest to a Peak
quiver for buggying can be had with only two kites, the 6m and the 12m, so this would get you half way. Just sayin...
Tons of people really like the original 6m Peak with the only stated negatives I've ever seen consistently was that the hole in the center of the bar
can wear on the lines a bit. One way to go could be to pick up Tami's 12m and then find a used 6m Peak as KO and use the line set and bar from the 12m
with the six.
449 Euros -> that's about 400 of UK moneys. I can't use some special chars like pounds, because then my post blanks out totally - probably since I
got outlandish keyboard [-settings] oh, I could use brackets gee)
I have to admit the Peak is a solid budget minded option. I have the Peak3 in a 12m. Thanks to Windstruck. It's a solid performer. And reasonably
priced.
Holy shnikies! Did I just join the Peak fanboy club?
thanks for all the suggestions, really like the flysurf choice which are little higher than i wanted to spend but i have lots of overtime at work so if
i can find time to do some then possibly treat myself.
Don't rule out the LS2 if you like the single skins. I don't have hands on experience but the LS2 looked do fly more refined and is a bit cheaper new.
Ken, I wish we had worked it out so you could have rocked my LS2s at IBX. Next year for sure. I'm going to be getting a 4m StreetStar too, something I
think you might really enjoy on your skates.
