I'm not from Harrisburg, but been there on business many time thought it has been many year ago. One suggestion - you are pretty close the Hersey PA
- home of the Hersey Candy Company. You might check and see if they have tours of their factory, museums, shops and the like. Looks like there is a
lot to do there for family fun. It is the sweetest place on earth.

I think I'm about as close as it gets. I'm just 30 mins east.
I've heard good things about but have never been to:
Appalachian Brewing Company 50 N Cameron St, Harrisburg, PA 17101
If you want to venture out a bit farther, Try:
Troegs Brewing Company 200 East Hershey Park Drive, Hershey, PA 17033 (Take the family to Hershey's Chocolate World while your in the area)
TJ Rockwells American Grill & Tavern, (has two locations) (I've always had a good experience)
I don't eat out much so sorry for the short list. Enjoy!

Found a nice lil hole in the wall diner called The Flamingo Grille that only does breakfast. Its by the Whitaker Center for Science and Art. Great
food for small cash!

There is also the 3 Mile Island Nuclear plant not too far from Harrisburg. Not sure it's open for visitors though. Often got a nice view of it
flying in and out of town. I think it is now shut down.

What kind of food do you like? I went to school out that way.
Hershey Chocolate World is right next to the park. It's free to go on the tour. It's basically a giant candy store.
Also as Randy said TMI is right there but unfortunately they only do tours once a year. Only the one reactor is still operational but they won't let
you anywhere near it.

Not picky on food, just as long as its not octopus, squid, caviar or tapioca, lol. Got rained out of the amusement park this afternoon. Were going
back tomorrow though.

If you like Italian check out Fenicci's in Hershey. Depending on where in Harrisburg there is a Lancaster Brewing Company near you which has good food
a beer. Troegs has great beer and good food. It's set up cafeteria style so it's not the place for you if you want waitress service.
