A source for bulk kite line?
Ive been trying to locate a source of reasonably priced line in bulk on spools. I dont mind if its straight out of China.
Seen anything. I thought it would be easier to source then it has proven to be. I want to make my own line sets and extensions. Also looking for a
source for the sleeving.
Also looking for bulk orings to try as a grip material. Sold in quantities of 100/500/1000. I can find them all day long sold in quantities of one for
a dollar each. Have found limited supplies of 50 at 5 cents each.

make sure that the line is pre-streched.
i grabbed some 350# dynema fishing line for kite line and essentially made an aerial yo-yo.

I started using the Muzzy Extreme Bowfishing line for sleeving a few years back and have had great results. awindofchange also sells bulk bulk line
in 1000' spools.. Goodwinds also has bulk line options available..
do keep in mind when buying bulk, it isn't pre-stretched so be prepared to adjust at least once after you've constructed..

This thread is a bit old but I just noticed it as I've been away from PKF.
Back when I was in a kite building mood I made several linesets out of the Jerry Brown 500# spectra that was mentioned in the linked thread. Years
later the kites on those linesets still fly great and I haven't had to make any trim adjustments. If there has been any creep it's been completely
even. And it was very affordable.
However you absolutely have to pre-stretch it before you measure it. I recall laying out a quarter mile of it behind my truck and pulling it until a
lighter "fuse" line snapped, and it got significantly longer.
