If you have a standard 4.80 wheel on a stock front fork, then finding a suitable front fender shouldn't be too difficult. It is though, Any help out there?

What other things use a wheel/tire same size? For me, minibikes. Some have found trailer fenders right size.

Found one at 7" which requires two deeep notches, or holes.
Also cutting the length to get rid of some holes.

Hey Ed, not sure how you do with a welder, but I bought a steel trailer fender that was about an inch too wide, chopped the midsection out with a angle grinder, welded it back together and attached it to the bolt that holds the front fork to the down tube... I would share pictures but they are essentially held hostage by the fun folks over at photobucket... there are a lot of great options,... good luck!

The monster scooter MB165 front fenders measure 7.5" wide, 22" straight end to end, 6.5" from flat surface to highest point. The curved arc distance is 26". The radius is pretty big for a barrow tire. I don't have a way to measure the radius at this time (i could at work), but I would estimate the diameter to be about 32-34". Also it looks to be a quarter of a circle. 26" x4=104, 104/3.14=Diameter of 33.12"

Here is the fender that I used on my Flexifoil Navaro. It is a shortened and modified plastic or fiberglass Harley front fender. I am not positive of what model of Harley it came from, I got it from a co worker that builds custom choppers. It works well for keeping me drier. It has a slot at the top to clear the fork gusset and brackets at the bottom end. If it is removed there are only two small blocks that are TIG welded to the fork.

Well a tire fender is very eco I guess. I'll save that for a last resort.
I had a feeling that the fender Jim brought to my attention was a little fat, it depends on how easy the material is to work with to get it around the fork tubes.

Never thought of motor cycle fenders, yours sure turned out slick. I'll google around some.

Sally, that's a fine looking rig you have been assembling. Front fender is definitely sweet. I do believe I detect some 6-ply tires gracing those rims. Well played my friend, well played. Commented on before, but that seat is outstanding.

That's one of the many things I really love about this sport. Same deal at IBX. There are as many different rigs as there are rides, most ever one of them with a nice story about its evolution. Not a whole lot of "off the rack" stuff on the playa either. :karate:

Clickity Clack, Clicikity Clack... The sound of the gravel hitting the inside of the fender is annoying. Other than lining it with some closed cell foam for noise, it was a success. At first I thought it was distant gunfire, like semiauto shot gunners after rabbits. Too fast for a pump gun.

No gravel in my face or on the seat. If I was on sand I'd add a mud flap, but for gravel

The project requires skill with aviation snips, or if not so much then a file and sandpaper to smooth the edges. I may extend the 4" bolt on the headstock to 4.5.
There's enough fender to almost make two fenders if cut carefully.

Try spray on sound deading, truck bed liner, under coating or plast-dip to give a rubbery surface to deaden the sound. I did this to a kitchen sink in the past.

That will work, and be easy to re apply as needed. Thanks Mr Eric, I never thought of undercoating the thing. Now...how to quiet those voices...
