I guess they get away with the full name "Phantom Wing"? Though it only says Phantom on the graphics...
Nice looking kite, but at $3800 for an 18m, they are not marketing this kite at me.

Coincidence. Apparently creativity in names is hard to come buy in the kite industry. If you look closely, you'll find several kites from various
manufacturers at various times shared the same name. The Charger for example can also be found in other brands.
I wouldn't be surprised if the people that decided to call this kite the "Phantom" are unaware of the arcs that had that name.

I'm quite sure the folks at SS have never heard of an Arc called the Phantom.
PL sueing? Ha, we're way too small for that. Funny how people always seem to think we're a big company...

Names getting used twice is rampant in the kite industry for some reason.
Sting 1.7, 2.4 - Flow 2, 3, 4, 5 - Reactor 2.2, 2.8, 3.5, 4.4, 5.5 - Yakuza 2.2, 2.7 - JOJO 9

Name hijack?
To the best of my knowledge, the Benson Phantom predates the Peter Lynn Phantom by more than a decade.
And is currently being produced.
So I guess it all a matter of perspective.

Given the super high A/R of those kites, they look even larger than they actually are. Funny how they espouse the value of a foil to take their
flyboards to the next level when for years foils were looked at like red-headed step children by anyone who flew an inflato.

anything new and respectable will increase the total number of kites available used. I buy used kites.
Flying mostly single skins, with some orphans, the American flag, and a PL buggy. US01
