Hi guys

I'm up here in Ontario Canada and have hit a bit of a snag. I broke two lines, a steering line and the same side front line on a 5 line North Rebel. I'm having trouble finding a kit with all 5 lines from North. The bar is a 2012 and the line lengths are very different. Steering lines are 20 meter and the three inside lines are about 8 meters but are all the same lengths.
I can measure the lines as soon as the storm we are having is over.
Does anyone here know who can make me some or point me in the direction of a replacement kit from North?
The dealers up here told me I may have to buy an entire bar.
Last thing I will take two sets to replace the lines on my other bar as well.

Why not just make them yourself? Cannibalize or buy an old line-set on ebay to match your breaking strain, cut them to length and buy a heavy duty re-sleeve kit if necessary. This is what I've done on a few occasions. Replacement lines-sets are silly money.

Another option...

You can do a splice-in line fix perhaps..for no cost. You need some spare line(a piece of similar line).

I have spliced broken line several times and it's held up well. Line splicing tutorial is available on-line.

Thanks for the replies. I'm a little hesitant to try splicing the line as I kite quite a bit from beach during the summer, not much of a shore to drift into if something goes wrong if I'm away from the launch. Northern Ontario rock and tree shores.
Where would I get the sleeve kits, any idea? I may give that a try.

We sell Q-Power. IMO a much better line than the factory ones. Less money too.

John, I've sent you a U2U - I should be able to help you out either walking you through splicing or getting lines replaced with some Q-Power etc
It's all pretty straight forward but easier to actually lay out lines and match up rather than a measurement that could be off by a few cm depending on how strong you pull on lines to measure

Unless you broke it at the very end -at the sleeved loop( actually within less than ~ a foot from it)...you may NOT need to sleeve, or even re-sleeve( unstitch the stiched loop and slide the SLEEVE up or down...... because you will be reusing that line piece with the sleeved loop on it.

This depends where the break in line was.

Just from the break and leftover fray, that line is now shorter. So..
What you are trying to do is add a piece -just to connect the two broken pieces- that brings the line back to same length as the remaining lines. If it is a little off you may be able to adjust by moving it( and to a knot) on the lead line .

Splices may be a lot stronger than you think, or they would not be suggested. Not just suggested cause it's no expense...
