high wind board
I am currently in the market for a high wind board and debating on size, either 123cm or 128cm. I already have 154cm for light wind and 138cm for
normal use.
Would 128cm be too close my 138cm board? Would 123cm be too small to use unless it's 40 mph+ wind, which I wouldn't even go out?
I weigh 150lb. Thanks for your help, guys. - Brian

anything under 130 i think is too small.... i use a 150 90% of the time and 135 for when its nuking. I weigh 150lbs and fly Flysurfer kites, so high
wind is relative to the depower in your kites.

I think board width and rocker have a greater effect on board performance than length. Board width translates to "planing surface". In higher winds,
you need / want less planing surface, so a narrow width is the call. What's the width and rocker on your 138? Maybe go 8 cm shorter and 4-5 cm
narrower from your 138.
A couple years ago everybody went to short, 120cm boards. Now you hardly ever see anyone on a board under 130. The shorter boards are just "too much
work".

Then, I might not even need any more board. I just bought those two boards and only used 154cm in light wind. Maybe I should wait until I try 138cm
in high wind first to see how it works. I just got into kiteboarding and feel like I need everything - Brian

Your 134 should be the smallest board you need if it is a newer board because it should have flex in the right areas to make it controlable in higher
wind.
