You don't need a harness and shouldn't use one if you are new.
You can use handles with a harness by creating a strop between the powerlines (usually a larksheaded knot to the pigtails on the back of the handle or
the powerleaders themselves). 5mm braided polyester rope or climbing rope works fine.
You can jump with a 7m Beamer but it is designed for low lift so you'll need to fly it at the upper end of its wind range. It should have OK float
because its a big kite.
Being new to this and not knowing the fundementals, you should not take a kite that big out in high winds. Really you should have started with
something in the 3 - 4m range but since you've got a big, low wind kite to start, only go out in about 5 - 7mph winds to for now. You need to
exercise caution at first if you want to progress in this sport. Any power kite can hurt you. Newer fliers tend to underestimate wind strengths to
compensate for their limited kite skills. A 7m kite can hurt you and those around you in a hurry.
Be safe, be cautious and have fun.
Oh, and get a helmet - and killers.

Please have someone come out with a camera and take pictures . It will help us show folks what happens to a person who takes TOO BIG a kite out and
hasn't a clue what they are doing.
Do yourself a favor and try a smaller / safer kite 1st. At least make sure you don't take that one out in real wind to start out with. As said above,
you have a good kite just too soon !!
Slow but steady wins the race.

Thanks for the concern guys.
I have been flying a beamer II 3.6 for over a year now, sorry I didnt mention it earlier, the only other kite I have flown (once) was a sabre 9.0m on
a real calm day. So yes I am a little worried, thats why I asked the question. lol
Sorry I forgot to mention the 3.6 !!!! Just real excited I guess!!
So how do we rate the old beamer Mk1 7.0m against the later beamers and I have a 43CM carbinha bar will that be any good with it?

He He.... Now your talkin' So good to hear you've done your basics ! As
mentioned all kites will jump just some better than others. Something I seem to be noticing with the Bullets ( pulling kite ) lately is folks getting
yanked hard downwind instead of up when trying to jump the kite. Watch out for that and be ready to let go completely rather than get slammed ! With
many kites it's better to try to fly something like that out but I'm starting to think that with big pull kites it may be better to let go.
After all of that I have to mention that I'm not sure if the beamer is a big pull kite. I'm not personally familiar with them. No one around here
seems to go HQ ?
