What's your application? Buggy? Board? Jumping?

Whereas you have experience and have flown, you should be fine with either but they are designed with different ends in mind.

I'd say blade for boarding and jumping. Rage for buggy or Blade for buggy if you want to jump.

Can't go wrong with either but the blade is going to be more lifty and it has the angle of attack adjuster so you can tweak it a bit. Rage is more pull than lift.

The Ozone Riot is similar to the Blade in lift, I think the Blade will still have a bit more than the Riot but the Riot is much faster through the window. Buggying with the Riot is awesome, very nice kite. The Riot is actually being discontinued and replaced with the new Haka. We just got our Haka's in stock and I haven't had the chance to put one in the air yet. Hopefully we can get them out this weekend for some testing. All reports so far is that it takes the Riot to a new level which is hard to believe cuz the Riot is such an awesome kite already.

If you want the ultimate land board kite then the Frenzy is just kiting pleasure. The Depowerable kites will have as much or more jumping ability than the Blade with the ability to depower when you need to. They also have a much wider wind range they can be flown in. Usually you can use one Frenzy in the same wind range as 2 or even 3 Blades (depending on rider skill, weight, etc...).

Flexifoil and Ozone are the top kite manufacturers on the planet. The best of the best. You can't go wrong with either one of them.

Ive seen them mentioned on RK forum and there is Trowbridge Active Leasure aka TAL. Heard alot of good things on TAL. If youre set on fixed bridles Id say either the Blade 3 6.6 or Ozone Haka/Riot 7.0. A 4 meter blade is a bit small for jumping, and factor in lighter summer winds! Another option you have in the UK are U Turn kites. The Oxi, and Oxi Pro get great reviews for the buggy. The U Turn Butane will give you lift for static jumping and buggy and boarding pleasure. Some people insist the Butane is a straight race kite, not freestyle. Either way, Ive never read a negative comment on U Turn kites! Ozone and Flexi are the big dogs for sure, alot seems more rep than overall quality/performane. Flysurfer and Air Evoluton are right there with both of them in depower quality and I can tell you from flying both, the Evo is much better performance wise than the Sabre 2, not even close! Did I mention the Evo is made from the same Porcher 767 ripstop as Ozone? Sorry off point! Id say Ozone Haka or Riot. You can prob work a deal on a Riot since hey are phasing out due to the Haka coming online! I have a 5m Samurai and she is a sweetie on the board, does lift some but not what your looking for! Good luck!! Decisions decisoins

Miller,

Prob not the best choice for jumping--air for sure but the descents could be of the non floaty, hard landing type. Would not recommend going below 5 meters for jumping unless its a Mac Para Bego 400! If your budget allows, go for a 3 or 4 series Blade 6.6 or 6.5, Ozone Riot 7m, or Mac Para Bego 600! Excellent low wind performance for your summer days, and plenty of lift when the wind gets up!

I have only ever really used the blade 6.6 (friends) in low winds (3-5mph) and nothing over 4ms in strong winds. How much extra power does it give compared to a 4m.

At the moment I am heading towards buying a blade III 6.6 as I can get a good deal on one.

Mill,

You're half way there if youve previously flown a 6.6. As with all kites, start in low/controlable winds and as you build confidence and learn the kite move up the wind scale but you already know that! How much more power good question? Never flown a 6.6 but it will be slower than the 4.0 which will give you more time to correct any mistakes you make. As for power/grunt, much more! Def big big lift but softer floaty type landings as long as you redirect and continue flying the kite. Let me put it this way, I once had a Blade 4.9 and a Bego 400. Did the Blade lift higher, yes but not that much. Was the Blade slower thru the window, def. Honestly the scariest kite Ive flown to date is the Bego 400 in 20 mph winds. Total beast, etc and a smaller kite i.e the Blade 4. Youve got experience flying a 6.6, better low wind performance, bigger window on the board and buggy, bigger jumps, go for the 6.6!

After some advice from a man i am going with the blade IV 4.0m. It will be mainly used for landboarding and a few jumps until i get better (i am only 15). My friend the owner of the 6.6 blade is buying a 8.5 in a few months or so and I will be buy the 6.6, and until then i get to fly it most weeks any way.

change of plan

I found a good package deal of a beamer III 3.0m and a eolo R1 landboard and bought this instead of the blade, as it was much cheaper and more controlable. I now have a part time job so will be able to buy the blade in a month or two, once I have become better with the smaller beamer.
