Pansh Ace

If you haven't seen it already, Pansh released another new kite, looks somewhat like their AirLink race kite (which apparently hasn't been selling too well - price too high?).

This one looks pretty sweet.

They seem decent for the price, the lines in the past were pretty low quality though.

Keep an eye on this thread as there are a bunch of people discussing this kite - I don't think anyone has their hands on one yet though:

OMG...welcome back to the fixed bridle world! I was thinking of ordering one. Anywho, I saw a credible review by a RK member that def knows how to fly. He had a board sesh and loved the lift and float the Ace produced. He used handles and lines that came with the kite and seemed to be over the moon with performance and quality of build. He has owned a Legend for quite sometime now so is not a stranger to Pansh! If youd like to review his initial comment its on RK, thread is titled Pansh Ace 52 quid.................. page 16 or 17 of the thread. Again, a huge discussion going on about this one!

Word was that the lines and handles were a problem with Pansh. Then I think I heard they changed them ?

I think I can justify this to myself if I can take a decent line set away from the experience ?
Are the line sets usable ???
When I was tempting myself I found that when I made my choice and then pressssssed continue I couldn't get to the next page. I expect I have to join that site to carry on. I sent a message requesting we go forward using Paypal and email. Will I have to join the site ?

upon reading through ALL 16 pages of the thread, it was deduced that the lineset provided is not of quality that most kiters would favor out of the bag.

It is braided line and in a couple of pics, BRAND NEW, there were frays/imperfections. Don't think I'd trust my life with those. Besides, a quality lineset isn't THAT much money.

Snowbird - I had to sign up first, then I was able to pay via PayPal.

I plan on using a set of Flexi lines and handles with the kite - have not heard good things about the stock lines...

I bit the bullet and ordered a 5m blaze in blue last friday. The tracking number is up and it is on its way. I am a little nervous about the talk of junky handles and lines but I have an unwrapped set of lines I can put on and can pick up some handles or fix theirs with some stuff from the hardware store. In the descriptions, it looked like the Ace was a tamer kite with no lift. Reviews are now saying otherwise. I'll just have to wait to see how it turns out and I'll post a review when I get to fly it.:singing::singing:

Let me know what you think - I bought a 12.5m Blaze a couple of weeks back. True, the line is like rope, but the handles are usable.

It's a pretty decent kite for the price. At 12.5m it flies pretty slow, but what you expect for something this big :-) I would definitely get another one in a smaller size - I'm hoping the Ace comes out in smaller sizes since the only size I'm really after right now is a 3m.

I'll be following this myself. I've been thinking of "downgrading" my quiver to HQ gear after some disappointing water sessions with my Flysurfer (why own such a spendy kite if I'm not going to leverage its strengths?); but if Pansh is stepping up to the plate, I may go a step further. I realize I'll still need some nice Ozone or Flexi lines, but it would be nice to free up some extra cash for <GASP> other hobbies. Oh yeah, and food...and rent...and bills...etc.

The kite, board or just water in general?

DaVinch - sent you a PM to keep this thread on-topic. In a nutshell, the Psycho3 rocked, I sucked. Has me questioning the validity of owning a water-capable foil in Indiana. Had been looking at HQ's as I think they're coming really close to the bar set by makers like Flexi, Ozone, and Flysurfer. If Pansh is at the same level at an even better price point, I might be in for a change of quiver. I'm really eager to see what an experienced pilot like yourself who has spent some time with higher-end makes of kites thinks of the Ace. I'm sure alot of others are as well.

Well, my 5 meter Blaze was ordered last Friday, shipped Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday. It started out shipped with TNT in China and arrived here via DHL. Apparently there is a legacy relationship from when DHL was Airborne. Package was in good shape and the kite neatly bound inside. I unroll the kits and toss the junky handles aside. Won't use them. The lines are scarily braided, so prolly won't use them either. The build quality on the kite is great. No puckers on the seams of the flame pattern or anywhere else, the edges are double stitched, this looks like a REAL kite. The bridles are knotted but for $129, that's what I would expect. Hoping for some wind today to get her up for a ride. I'll post a review when I have something for you.

Agreed Ashe--very eager to see what Da V has to say about the ACE. Hey Joe, just read a thread response from RK and one of their more experienced pilots posted 6 inch stretch on the main lines. Hopefully you have a spare set of lines laying around!
