Twisted Vision buggy build

I just finished my latest buggy build, the Twisted Vision. Windstruck told me to get on the ball and take some pictures so I did. I haven't tried it out yet but hopefully some wind will be available in the next week or so. I'll make sure to take some pics out on the beach. So far I'm really pleased with how it came out. We'll see how it rides.:wee:

Thanks Randy! Can't wait to try it out if the wind and weather cooperate. I need to see if it fits on the truck tomorrow.

I'm going to get some scales today to weigh it. If I had to guess I'd say 80-90 lbs maybe more.

Yes rtz, its hanging on the wall in some of those pics above. I have plastic over it to keep the grinding dust off of it.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone over on the Wildwood Buggy Bash facebook group. It seems everyone liked the buggy. I don't have a facebook account so can't respond back but I definitely appreciate all the positive feedback. I'll be at the spring Wildwood to buggy with all of you! Thanks again for all the great feedback!
PS. the next buggy is already on the jig..... 'the black knight';)

Mood: Get in my buggy!

Wow just doesn't seem like a large enough superlative, but it's just what kept slipping off my lips as I scrolled through the photo montage. I absolutely LOVE the flow and massing and the obvious blend of form and function. Well played sir!

I can hardly wait so see the Dark Knight!

Thank you guys. I'm glad everyone likes it. Sorry for taking so long to post weights but apparently there is a bathroom scale shortage over here. They are very hard to find. The Twisted Vision comes in at about 120 pounds and the previous buggy (Vision Roadster) weighs 80 pounds.

Only a few more months and I'll see you at Wildwood Jack :cool:

Beautiful form on the 'triangle' buggy. Construction method? SS or aluminum tubing and TIG with paint or powder coat finish? Ride vs a more conventional config with tubular rear axle?

9m PL GII, w/ adjustable rear strap mod
Dual mode mod PL GI 13, HArc 6, FArc 12
Cab 5m Convert, 7&9m Xbow, 12m SB
Lots of stunt kites and a Rev Supersonic

Riding:
Libre Special buggy, PL Comp buggy
Line skiboards, & Lib-Tech Park & Pipes

Hey Krumly. I built the roadster back in 2016. I made a post on here back then about it. It's 3" x .065 304 SS. I originally polished it but it turned out being too bright so i ended up painting it. The buggy is extremely rigid. No flex at all so it rides as well as any other buggy (better IMHO:)). Very fast and holds the power very well. A lot of fun to ride

Just thought I'd post a few pictures of the bug before I head to Wildwood tomorrow. I rode with Dan and Paul last week at Nahant. Buggy was a blast. Very happy with it. Dan even got a pic of Paul for those of you who haven't seen him in a while. Hope to see some of you at Wildwood. Cheers!

That looks so good. Hot wired? Are those aircraft tyres? The wide grooves make me believe this.
What a masterpiece this bug is.

Thanks for the compliment Redsky. I know everyone is accustomed to the great works of guys like Popeye so I figured I would need to pull out all the stops to keep up. I do ride hotwired. Have been doing that since the late 90's. I don't think my back would last very long if I had to wear a harness where as I can ride all day with the hotwire. The tires are 18 x 8.50 x 8 lawn tractor tires. 4 ply made by Vredstein. I'm pretty happy with their performance in soft sand. The deeper grooves give plenty of lateral stability instead of just getting dragged sideways.:cool::cool:

I've been thinking about you. For me, the weekends have either been too rainy or too windy to head out but if you go again, shoot me a message and I will join you if I can. Great looking final product!

Thanks Brian! I'm in Wildwood right now but will be back by 4/24. Maybe we can get down to Nahant soon. I'll message you before the weekend.
