So I'm down in South Padre Island currently and was pretty bummed out when I realized the wind this week was going to be super light winds. You can
usually count on 16mph every evening here, so I felt pretty comfortable planning ahead to spend a week here.
Whelp, peak range these days is like 10mph, but my Soul 2 21m has literally saved this trip. I cant believe I was up and surfing yesterday in about
8mph, gusting to *maybe 11.
This train of a kite had all 220 lbs of me up and having a good time. Staying upwind wasnt really feasible, but I'll take what I can get.
If its within your means and you want some light-wind insurance, this kite is a great investment. Resale sucks on these, though
. So if you buy it, best count on keeping it. My last one lasted me over ten years of
light use, though, so they last (and last and last!), and the new ones are apparently a lot more resistant to the elements.
Happy kiting!
