Jumping with Handles or Bar?

Hello, I am new to this sport and was wondering if someone could tell me if I will be able to jump using a bar or if handles are better. I have noticed in videos on the net that some people appear to be using strap like handles.
I ordered a Beamer TSR 3.6 it comes with a bar, will this be OK for small beginner jumping and scudding?
Thanks, Dave

Both work good. I usually use handles with a strop to hook onto my harness, but I spend a lot of time in a buggy and like having the option of brake turns. Most guys on the ATB's seem to prefer using a bar, but both will work for either sport.
