Alameda Naval Air Base
Hey bay area buggiers - Has anyone ever buggied at the Alameda base? I't enormous, and I'm pretty sure it would be okay. Looking on Google Earth, you
can see auto races going on, and I know you can just drive in without gates. I've heard kite boarders fly there too. I'd think it would totally be
worth an entire day.

I've always wondered myself about that place - it would be truely awesome if you can buggy in there up and down the runways?!
I read online somewhere ( a couple of years ago so maybe it's changed since) that it's not publicly accessible, but there is a skatepark somewhere
there close to one of the streets close to where you'd enter the base, and apparently it possible to enter the rest of the base from there, and people
frequently go in there and rollerblade etc?
If you're close by and don't mind checking it out for the rest of us we'd be interested to hear what you find?

Buggying at Alameda NAS
My wife's cousin lives in Alameda and he says that he's seen regular skateboarders and skaters with kites out there. I think it's worth a drive to go
check it out! I'm curious if it's all open access.
I'll try to get out there next week and will report back what I find out. It's about a 1.5 hour drive from my home.

I was kicked out twice there .To get there I had to jump the fence. It's BS
sanctuary they plan to turn all place to some kind of new housing town with malls in future,so I've heard.Wonder what will happen with all those birds
then ???Probably by then it will not be an issue if right people will make money on it.
There is also park in Port of Oakland .After they took so much land from Oakland they build new nice park for people and guess what, nobody goes there
it's almost hard to find there any soul during the week. But We are not welcome there as well as our tires will damage nice unused grass.in the same
time birds are feeding in the same grass craping all over. What is wrong with all those places ?

Well that sucks. I'm all for birds, but somehow I have a tough time imagining flocks of them frequenting that huge axpanse of tarmac. I'm sure it's
the perfect place for nesting and finding food, though, I mean it's a sancuary after all. I saw another place south of there, at the west end of W.
Winton. It looks like some sort of sand/gravel pit with many acres of flat dirt surrounding it. It buts up against the bay. I'll ry to check it out
the next time I'm in the area.
