Family and friends say All the time, You getting another kite??

I try and tell them its like golfing..I "could" golf with just One club,But its so much better with a lot of them.

Do you guys have the same problem with your friends and family?
How do you explain it to them?

I don't have a problem buying too much kite gear :wink2: ( well maybe just a little ) so much as a problem with storage. It's not just the kites ( x8 ) but all the rest of the kit that is getting harder and harder to tuc away ! The Kiteboard already hangs from the balcony ceiling. The ATB may have to get hung up there to when it comes home.
I NEVER thought I'ld be living this way at my age. But growing up isn't an option. :moon:

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

ANOTHER KITE?! How many do you have now?!
This is the script that I hear! I am pretty good about selling one before I buy another. At least that way I have an out!

My solution was to turn it into a business expense. My wife still can't figure out how I got that one past her but every time the phone rings she has to shake her head and give in.

Now I just have to get her to understand why when I go to the beach, every kite from 1.0 meter to 18 goes in the car. When she or I can accurately predict the wind....

Kite gear is good for decorating the room, just have to be creative, ATB can hang on a wall in place of that family portrait, my old surfboard is over the fireplace, kites hanging over the banister drying off. It's all good.

I was trying to find a way to pack less than the 12 kites I have into the bag, found it easier to buy a bigger bag.

It's not that you have too many you just need a bigger place.

I find it hard to get rid of kites, too many memories and lessons learned to let them go.
T he funny thing is you sometimes just like a certain kite as you know it will fit the conditions and what you want it to do.
I have two 7M and two 3M and assorted other kites and sizes.
Ken you have it right why grow up, I'll be 50 this year and getting more addicted daily.
Just take longer to heal up...lol

For me I have an unfair advantage, I'm the PKD distributor for North America, I can sort of kind of justify having one of everything just in case someone wants to demo it. Every time a new model comes out, I have no choice but to sell off the old ones and buy all new gear. It's horrible I tell ya, horrible. But a much needed business expense.

Then of course I need kite sizes perfect for all the different areas I fly, next time I think I'll need a couple more kites before heading back to Nevada, I never thought I'd be flying a 2m race kite, smallest race kite I brought was the 4.8m. My 13m was specifically for chasing down an old fart in seaside, but now my baby's gone, waiting to be replaced by a 12.4m Combat. Such is the life of a kite junkie.

OMG :wow: You SOLD the 13m Century. :wow:

I hated that kite! Nothing worse than seeing you tear around on apparent wind while I sat on the sideline waiting for wind ! :wink2:

Is it stiil on the Coast ? Did WolfWolfee get it ?

I used to sneak in new kites by having them shipped to work... and then use the "Oh... I've had that a while now" line.

Found that once the wife learned to fly one... and started to enjoy it... then I had to buy her one (lol... for every two that I happen to get... and the second one always just happens to show up right around the time when hers does)

Rofl.... let's do the math here...

Phantom + Access = Rage

(at least the Rage was in the limited edition Punk color scheme)

What do you do with your foils?

Charger 8, 12, 19
Scorpion 10, 16
And other foils...

Yeah, my baby's gone, Davinch took it off my hands, he's also first to play pass the 5.5m Brooza, so he's got both my babys. Somehow I feel strangely nekked. Combats should be rolling in shortly though, not sure how big I'm going to go, the 13m Cent was wicked for those low wind days, perfect for that one day in seaside with the straight onshore winds. I think I can rule out the 15.4m, but not sure if I'll go with a 10.2m or a 12.4m as the largest combat.

I've got the wife flying, all three kids flying, so technically, most of my personal kites are for them:spin:

And my personal favorite

I've been flying the 4.8m Proto for a while now and I gotta say, in the right winds the thing still scares me from time to time, quick and strong, takes some getting used to.

Oh, doesn't it, I know black is horrible for pics, but I'm hoping to get my first set in black, should look wicked in a crowd of brightly colored kites.
