Yeah i LOVE flying in the rain Foil kites do start to get pretty terribly heavy
after a while though, if theres a good amount of wind they'll stay up though. I find it's best when it's sprinkling so the grass is nice and wet and
you can powerslide all over the place

If the wind's good most newer foils will fly no problem, some of the older material soaks up the water pretty good. I've got a couple kites that are
my designated poor weather kites, the 3m and 5m Buster II's do great, the wing tip zippers let the water out of the kite as you fly. I've launched
them with 2-3 liters of water in the sail, sits there with one tip on the ground, fights for a while while some water drains off, then climbs out. Sit
over head for 30sec to finish draining the water and off you go. Scudding is amazing, great time to practice your buggy freestyle, 360's no problem.
Usually you'll also have the whole park to yourself.

I've only really got my 2.5m Flexi Rage completely saturated, but it was a crazy wind, 30mph and gusting more. It was slower than usual in that kind
of wind, but not too bad.
I guess you could try washing your kite with the same stuff you wash waterproof jackets in, to make the fabric waterproof, and then just dive the kite
from time to time to empty the cells!

You can get proper kite waterproofing stuff, I've got some "Seal and Glide" supposed to improve kite performance all around and make them waterproof,
just need to get around to trying it on an old weathered kite and see how it does.
