Bad idea, people have tried, some have succeeded, but you're losing control of the main plus side to the kite, the depower. Also, LEI's are meant to
fly with the leading edge held still while the back edges are tweaked for steering/control, you'll have to figure a way to get this out of handles,
you can't simply hook them up to the front lines and expect it to fly.
If you're looking to do some kitejumping, I'd say go for it with the LEI, but use a harness and the bar that came with the kite.
