I am at the point where I can static fly pretty well with no problems. Now I am looking into buying a board or buggy and I am not sure which way I should go. I love speed and have never been the skateboard snowboard type so I initially leaned toward landboarding. It was also the cheaper option to get into so it seemed sensible, but now I have found some good deals on a buggy and it has become more possible within my budget. I realize that everyone has their preference, but how should I sort this all out. Any advice? I would love to hear from those who have done both.

What size area do you have to fly in? In wide open spaces, the Buggy would be a blast!

hello there. although new here and relatively new to this sport i have tried both landboarding and buggying, i have skateboard and snowboard experience and still found landboarding pretty hard, where as with buggying you can get on a buggy and with a small amount of practise be moving pretty quickly and improvement comes rapidly. guess it is a very individual thing very much dependant on personal taste and determination. and as davinch points out space is a major factor. whichever way you choose enjoy

I've got a lot of room most of the time. I live within an hour from the beach which really isn't that bad.

If you prefer skateboard/surfing type sports then you will probably enjoy the landboard more.
I like buggy's but I prefer standing up skate type sports more hence the reason I have a landboard and not a buggy.
Whatever you get you'll have a blast.

If you are blessed with good beach access, consider the buggy. I personally like having my arse ensconced firmly and gravitationally planted in the buggy with less chance of a face plant (but I have flipped it a couple of times). The learining curve is less steep than on a 'board. And there is room for a beverage holder, speedometer, ice chest, GPS, tow another buggy....

And a 'board is not that much less than a buggy.

That being said, the local kiteboarders will tool around on the beach on land boards and a big open cell foil while they wait for the wind to build enough for their water kites. I'll offer them a ride in the bug and they always politely decline.

I'm curious, how do you give them a ride in the bug? There are no two seater buggies right?

Sorry for the double post. I think I am going to go with a landboard. Mainly for the reason of transportation. I would like to be able to throw it over my shoulder and drag it along with me where I go when I have to. Thanks for your advice. I wish I could go with that buggy though. Maybe later.
