My wife has expressed an interest in getting towed behind my buggy...I'm thinking, cool, more trips to El Mirage dry lake bed.

I was thinking about buying another buggy so I can tow her behind mine and if she likes it, we can go together and just follow one another.

...or just save some money and buy a "trailer" that she can sit in.

My question is, what is the best way to connect two buggys or it would be simpler and more cost effective to buy just another "seat with wheels"?

I've seen some pics on this site, but best case for me would be some type of "store bought" solution as I have no wood/metal expertise.

What should I do?

Strap a cushion on and sit her on the rear axle....thats got to be the cheapest way

Yeah, that would probably be the most inexpensive route for sure. Unfortunately, I have a PL folding buggy so there's no real rear axle area to speak of.

Any other suggestions?

If you're on a folding buggy I'd consider buying a larger buggy and using the folding one as a trailer, quite a difference once you upgrade,

Popeye or one of the other fab guys should be able to whip up a trailer rig pretty quickly.

Those with metal working equipment can do better, but this was designed to be replicated by those with hand tools and a power drill- even in an apartment if you have a Black and Decker Workmate or some such foldable bench vise.

It has worked well. One change: Version 3.1.245 will have an 8" extension on the tow hitch of the towing buggy in order to prevent contact of the tow-bar with the rear wheel of the towing buggy in a tight turn.

One thing to remember in a tandem rig is that you cannot just throw the wheel over for a skidding turn to scrub off speed or do a quick 180. Turns have to wider to prevent a jack-knife or crack-the-whip effect on the towed buggy.

But cracking the whip and sending the rear bug into the surf while your bud's on it can be fun, possible flip over, but can be fun.
