Kite For Surf and land? 7m beamer III?

hi everyone I have been flying kites since i was little but ive only been flying traction the past year or so. Im now getting board of my 1.8sqm radsail and want to start kitesurfing as i do a bit of wakeboarding. the only problem is i want a kite i can use on water and land so an LEI would be a bit of a nause o and i have £250 to spend anyone have any ideas? maybe a HQ beamer III 7m or something??
thnx sam

Well you CAN fly an open cell, fixed bridle foil like the Beamer on the water, but it turns into laundry on a string the minute it hits the water.
The Beamer is a great kite, but not in that application. It would be a slug trying to pull that much power out of it. If you have ever water skied then you will understand the amount of brute force it takes to pluck you out of the water.

Snowbird is closest with his recommendations but they will still be out of your stated price range. The Peter Lynn Twinskin ARC's like the Venom II are good cross-over land/ water kites. The Vortex is entry level Water and should be avoided on land unless on skis. The new Scorpion is great on land for the bug or 'board but tougher to re-launch on water.

Best bet, keep your eyes open for a used Venom/venom II, I believe the Bomba's good all around as well. For Flysurfer, lots of choices, but they may be a bit pricier.

also be sure and find a place to get replacement bladders..... when learning and crashing, they can only be fixed so many times.

make sure all the lines are the same length....the 5th center line should be longer of course to reach to the center rib of the kite.

don't forget a harness. and have a blast !

A used Waroo would do it. They are quite reasonable on the used market and it's a bow, so easy to learn on.
