Doom.. Put away the checkbook!
Before you buy one of these you might want to know that the Wego kite tube has been recalled, banned at state level and multiple lawsuits are pending.
The 1st time I saw one of these babies in action I was ready to throw away all of my towables and get one of them! You EASILY can go as high as your tow rope allows. 30 to 50 feet high were not uncommon on our lake by this one guy!
Then I saw him crash... Its not like a kite crash were you decend at the rate of gravity, what happens is the tube gets unstable and the wind from getting towed pushes the tube down towards the water. So basically you are exeeding the speed of gravity by multiples. This equals broken necks in many cases.
Do a Wego kite tube search on you tube and there is a video that shows a guy having his neck broken.
These tubes are well known in the boating world as dangerous in the wrong hands [sort of like a beginner with a Flexifoil Blade in a 30 mph gusty wind in our community- hey, they don't call them widow makers for nothing!] the sad thing is they still sell well on Ebay.

Trust me on this one- as Doom said watch the vids before thinking about buying. Spend your money on a new kite! Why do I sound like my father?!

They are banned on all US Army corp of engineers lakes. There are big signs at our boat ramps and marinas. That first video shows it can be controlled with a sober boat driver though. That guy was stable and able to turn left and right. It seems that too much speed is what takes it almost above the boat and then it is "out of the wind window" except this thing doesn't bowtie, it turns to find some wind and finds it by turning upside down. REAL bad if you were already going over 30 mph. It has foot wells that gravity AND/OR acceleration would force your feet into, preventing you from bailing out in an emergency. Is this the same situation when you have a strop hooked into a harness? It looks that way to me in the pictures.:?:

I used to have one.... What a blast!!!! I got hurt a couple of times, but still fun... You just need a very attentive boat driver...... I wish we could still use them.... If anyone has one I want to buy it... Let me know...
