De-power bars universal or not?
Well basically what the title says.
Can I put montana 2 depower bar and use for instance with inflatable LEI kites such as Best Waroo 2007
Thank you!

kind of... it may fly but probably will entail lots of fussing to get it to work right.
if you use the sheeting system, the throw length will be MUCH DIFFERENT
also the leaders will probably not match up and you'll have to extend/shorten to equalize.

Aside from possibly having to make a few pigtail extentions to make the line lenghts work for some kites they will "work"
Problem is with a kite like the PL arcs, they take lots of throw, my Scorpion is somewhere between 12" and 18" of throw, huge depower though. I
believe the Best stuff and a couple others are in the same boat. If you take an old LEI bar that only has 6" of travel you simply won't be able to
access all the depower the kite's capable of.
On the flip side, if you run a PL bar on an older LEI, you may have so much depower travel that it becomes easy to stall the kite and such.
But yeah, it'll work, depends on how long that centre strap travel is for how good it works.

The Best Waroo bar is actually a very good bar and works great. Like Pablo said, the amount of (needed) throw and depower can vary between different
kites and you will almost always have to make some sort of adjustments to get the non-standard bar to work properly. Usually these adjustments are
very minimal and don't cost much if anything at all. This is all part of "tuning" your bar to work with the kite. Even factory supplied bars "can"
be tuned to fit your flying style.
Again like Pablo said, the Peter Lynns have huge amounts of depower and unless you have a very long sheet you will not be able to capitalize on that
depower. Over sheeting some kites (example, older style LEI's) can also have very adverse results such as flipping, collapsing and losing stability.
A stopper ball will help limit over sheeting but the only way you can increase your sheeting is to add in a new chicken line and/or power adjuster
strap.
The best thing is to hook the bar up to your kite and fly it in light wind conditions so you can test the setup. Then make adjustments as necessary
until you find the optimum setting that fits your flying style. Then your ready for the big winds.

I think everyone got on the Peter Lynn tangent and forgot that bloah has an HQ De-power Bar. I just ran to the kite rack and looked at my Montana 2
bar. It has about 9 1/4 " or 23-24 cm of throw.
Unlike the PL bar (Zero7 Bar), which has a moveable stopper ball for an adjustable throw, the HQ bar is "hard coded" for that amount and would be
hard to adjust.
There are a lot of Waroos flying on our beach but I can't remember how much throw they want. Like Kent said, try it in lighter conditions first.

Just curious, 2:1 / 2:2 bars for BOWs etc have another set of pullies and lines on the bar end, will this affect anything other than the throw is
smaller but in reality is quite big?
Thinking about it, it shouldn't make an actual difference at all, should it?
