Yes...thanks to all your help here and guidance I rode the board to day at Le Crotoy. It took the better part of an hour to get myself but conditions were perfect and I hit the board flying and got it going super fast. In fact, I rode both directions and got some serious speed and a single (unplanned) jump.

Winds were between a 2 and 4 and were consistent from the SW. The beach was mostly empty and the few spectators watched me trek up and down the beach. I can't wait to get back and work it harder.

I am still struggling with 4 strings. I seem to constantly get tangles with 4 but not with 2. So...I went out and plunked down for the Dyneema string. Problem is, the length is about 4m longer than the packaged string. As such, I have to go and buy a second set for the brake lines.

Regardless, I am now a landboarder and not simply an object for my kite to drag me across the beach. I did take home a lot of good knowledge today...I learned that I need to leave the footholds on my board loose so I can slip in and out quickly. I also need to work on cross-wind flying so I can turn easier.

Thank you all for the great advice. It only took about five or six visits to the beach to get it down but I got it!

I'm assuming 2-4 on the beaufort scale, sounds like you had a blast and are getting along nicely.

One thing to remember with a 4 line kite, unless the kite goes through itself or the bridal the lines will never get tangled that bad, if it's twisted and you want to straighten them out on the ground, simply put both handles together, spin the pair of them as one unit, then grab them again, people usually get messed up when they start trying to untwist one side by spinning the handles.
