Moving on & up

I've not had my Beamer all that long, but already getting the idea of progressing.

Unfortunately I'm well in land and the nearest suitable location is relatively sheltered due to trees, hedges etc. On a breezy day, the low level wind ie for launch is barely enough to get the Beamer up.
So it got me thinking of what kite to get that makes better use of the lower winds. I'm only really interested in static flying, but would consider getting a bar and harness.
Would a 4 or 5m Beamer III suffice?
Or are there better makes / types?

For static flying, a 5m Beamer would be great in winds starting around 6-7 mph, I think. If you want something more lifty for jumps (be careful), look at the Crossfire or Blade 4.9.

I have a 7m beamer that is a real low wind grunter and a handfull over 10 mph.

i'd rekomend a blade IV 4m or 4.9m they give you a wide wind range and you will take a while to out grow them.

my Blade IV 4m will pull me off the ground (all 12stone!!) but floats me bak down soft as a feather!!

Check out Blade IV (4, 4.9 or 6.5) kites. How much do you weigh? Blade IV are extremely versatile kites and you can enjoy them for a long time. Their bridals can be set for power or lift or both and you can use them for variety of styles(static, boarding, buggy). I have a 4.9 and love it. Be warned that this kite is VERY powerful and is not recommended in high winds if you are new to the sport or don't konw how to control the kite. Start in low winds and don't fly in high windy conditions.

Have fun!

Longer lines will also help with the wind situation you're dealing with, chances are there's no good usable wind within 20ft of the ground, going from the 25m lines that most kites come with up to a 30-40m line set will help keep the kite way up over the obstructions and in the clean winds.
