HQ Apex - Where to attach the leash

Can't remember my Apex coming with a lease??? Can I use the same lease that I use on my PL's? Where would you attach it?

Hey Tridude, what do you mean by "pull the top hat...."

...Still want to research attaching the lease...in case I need to pull, don't want the kite flying away and possibly hitting someone or getting blown onto the road!

Has anyone attached a lease to an Apex or Access. If so, where di d you attach the lease?

check this link on ozone access kite

http://www.flyozone.com/snowkites/en/products/kites/accessxc...

and check the re-ride safety system.

I think HQ uses the same system

when you pull the hat, it releases by a few feet the front lines, so the kite remain attached by the rear lines, and lose its 80-90% of its power.

top hat is the primary safety device, a red grommet, that connects your main lines to the depower line and trimmer

Ummm... I've come un-hooked with HQ's "Leash-less safety system". A couple of times I've botched a jibe with a new kite and have had the donkey dong pop out of the hook. When the loop drops out and you are holding the bar, and the kite re-inflates, POOF! OBE. Forearm scars are still with me.

The second time, I had the presence of mind to grab the checken loop with one hand and kill the kite with the safety with the other.

I borrowed a leash from my Sabre 2...

...and got some 661 elbow/ forearm guards.

They are fine kites. I just like a leash. and we all want a longer donkey dong, right?

You can attach a leash to your Apex no problem. Just hook onto the center of the crossover line that runs between the two brake lines. This is the same line that you use to reverse launch the kite.
