Need advice

I want to buy a used kite from a particular in NY area, and don't want to drive 8hours to get it.

The kite seems top shape, a GOOD price, but I dont' know this guy, not sure if he posts elsewhere.

What is best way to ensure nobody gets ripped off in a such transaction, and across border.

pay first ? pay after ? paypal ? broker ??

Anyone well known on this forum living in NY area to have a look and do the broker for me

Buyer be ware should be the moto when purchasing over the net from unknown sellers. I think the only payment options you have are what he agrees to so you may be limited.

Hopefully someone in NY can help you or vouch for the seller. Good luck!

if you send bank Check... send it Signature Confirmation.

take photos of things you send.

label the package "GIFT" or "PROMOTION" to avoid massive duties.

I would give him a call and talk it over. Then use PayPal. They are pretty good about covering the buyer. You pay him first, and then he ships it out.

So...what kite is it? Maybe I'll need to check it out for you first

I am sure anyone here would buy it, price is very good. That's why I need to make sure the deal is correct.

I had him to send me pictures of the kite. The guy has a verified status on Paypal with 9 transactions in 3 years. So I bought it.
