1.8m Century, at 3 times the wind speed, in theory you could crack 150mph.
Eli, why are you still at home on the puter, grab the GPS and get at it.

IT'S RAINING! I actually use a 3m Instinct Light when it's raining. 60 is very easy, but the kites gotta little more grunt than I would like,
Yakuza's aren't fast when wet. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
then when it's sunny the wind isn't blowin

Care to explain how this theory can be possible to achieve?
Given the wind speed at 50mph. (Apparent wind? or Actual Wind?)
Where did the 3 times come from?
I'm curious.:wink2:

In theory, you can achieve 3 times the given wind speed if the kite, buggy and conditions are optimum. In reality, we get on average 2 to 2.5 times
the wind speed out here at the dry lake beds. Sometimes you can get pretty close to the magical 3 but it is rare. Still - with 50 mph winds speeds
over 100 mph would be very possible....suicide maybe...but still possible.

I feel conspicuous sometimes that maybe I post too much but try to always stay on topic and offer a valid comment or question. I too thought that
with years of contribution, I might catch Pablo. I looked and he posts around 1.5 posts per day and I don't quite make a post a day. So he is
pulling away and in the lead.
Edit: Also, if you just post to post, then you will be deemed irrelevant and not really a "know it all".

f-this man, I post like 10 times a day. And like Pablo just keeps pulling away. When he comes down here next week, and is away from his computer, we
should have a race to see who can catch Pablo count.

ummm....actually 25-40 wsw winds, gust to 70mph tonight! I probably wont be able to lift my arms on monday. Last night it was blowin 40w with snow
hail rain. Crrrrraaaaaaazzzzzzzzzyyyyyyy weather! I am going to be chasing it on Monday and Teusday. I'm going to use a 4m yakuza in approx
30-40mph winds and try to max out my ATB around 50mph. Good eye on the forcast, BUT if you're planning on coming to ride, that is the forcast you
want. If the winds are up it's time to fly, just bring two or each kite so you can always fly a dry one. the wind pushes the rain out of here in a
hurry. Give me a little notice, I'll get your beach house ready, right next to 18th st.!

Well, we've been having 25-30mph winds all day, wicked day at the local park with the 3.5m. Downside, wet grass, full BF's and a small park are
keeping the speed runs to a minimum. Nothing quite like blasting over a hill at speed either, gonna have to invest in a seatbelt to properly ride the
terrain.
They're calling for 50-70mph winds tonight. Gonna sit that round out.

cmon pablo, time to take it to the next level. You might want to get yourself into that sort of thing out here tho. 50-70 is the only way to get
100-110 out of a buggy. Sound like the winds workin up there too! Pucker factor 10+:alien:

There has always been the theory about three times the given wind speed. When I flew the JOJO RM+ 16 to a speed of 34.8 mph (using GPS) when the wind
meter was reading 3 to 6 mph, is way over that theory. I can only conclude that apparent wind had something to do with it. Still if that is true then
I was flying a RM+16 meter in around a 11.5 mph wind? It is still great to see people trying to fly single lines kites and scratching their heads as
I go blasting by on the beach at Sunset. :o

PS I thought I would never hear Eli say "Yakuza's aren't fast" LMAO

Hey, I'd be going big, but the main problem we're having is that all our sand flats are under water this weekend, only place to fly is a small grassy
park about the size of a football feild if you count a couple hills around it, and it's got a big freaking pond in the middle of it, wet grass all
around it. Standard barrows are hard to hold a line with when underpowered and the full BF's are just crazy, went for a 180 and accidentally pulled
off my first 720. Nothing like having the kite luff and continuing to slide sideways for another 30ft.
I've resorted to going out underpowered and practicing technique. Using the pond as a course and running laps around it. I've finally nailed my upwind
turns and I've figured out this crazy downwind move at speed where the kite ends up straight over your head pointing downwind. I'd go into more
details but it'd take too long and involve crazy diagrams. :frog:
This bites, I wanna fly a 6m, but only have traction for a 3.5m
This is the best park in town in full winter mode. Yes, most of the ridable area is pictured in the pic.

Yakuza's are 'f'in" fast, a little faster than depower kites whilst going for speed. AND I'LL LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT....."YOU REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN
HERE ON MONDAY" I'm certain that Yakuza's hold the top speed on 'my' beach! :bisou:
HAHA, YOU REALLY MISSED IT ON MONDAY!:P
