Which Board to choose ?
Hello guys,
I'm new on this forum so this is my first post here....
I'm looking to get into landboarding
I'm been kiteboarding for 3 years now so I'm comfortable with a kite...
I'm looking to get a landboard, but which one to choose...
I'm 1.78 (5-10) for 70kg (155lbs) and will mainly ride on soft sand (tide is not coming really far) or on grassy field.
I guess you will not use the same wheels on those 2 type of terrain...would you ?
So I'm looking for a bunch of info to make a choice.
THX

The best landboards are in england, if you ever end up going there... Trampa boards and D-EX decks are some of the best, d-ex are made purely of
carbon and weigh nothing. Amazing decks.
MBS is your best bet in the states... i think the core8 is a great freestyle/decent priced board, the comp16 is great as well... try and get rockstar
pro hubs though I think they'll ship you a dex to america though, and they
weight hardly anything so shouldn't cost too much...
IMO these are the best kite-landboarding boards: http://www.design-extreme.co.uk/intro.htm

If you are paying decent money you will get a decent board so a lot of it may come down to the graphics that you like and what's available. MBS,
Ground Industries, Scrub, Trampa, D-EX are all top notch so get what you like that you can afford.
As far as terrain and tires, you should be fine on land and sand with something like an MBS T1 tire. You can ride slicks on the sand but not on damp
grass so whatever the board comes with should be OK - just let a little air out at the beach if you need to and keep the tires firm on grass.
The next thing to consider is board length - short for more freestyle, carvey and jumpy stuff and longer for cruising. However, if you are tall you
may not like a short deck as it will have a narrow stance and if you are short you may not want a tall deck as it will weigh more and have a wider
stance.
Boards are the types of things its really good to try out before you are buying.
Check out some of the information here on boards and trucks http://www.racekites.com/howto/howto.asp and then make your decision based on what you can afford and what you like.

Gui,
I'm going to be sending a MBS Comp 90 demo board out soon. Would you like to be the first to try it out?
