MBS Comp 90 Demo for PKF members

I have a new MBS Comp 90 that I'm ready to loan out as a demo.

http://www.mbs.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idProduct=182

I'll be sending the board out to Gui this week and after he's finished trying it out, he can ship it off (at his expense) to the next person in line. After that person is done, they ship (and pay for shipping) it out to the next in line - just like the Pansh and Brooza program.

(Shipping within the US with insurance runs about $25)

Thanks!

Joe

I figure after 2 - 3 good sessions, you should probably have a feel for the board.

That seems to be the same time that the Pansh, Brooza and Blade stayed at each stop (about a week long).

Sound good?

I'd like to get on that list if possible. I'm looking for a lighter weight board than my Flexifoil Kava.

I weigh 200 pounds. Is that ok for the board?

Hey Scott,

No problem - the Comp 90 is pretty stiff. It will be fine for your weight.

I just finished packing it up and I'll be shipping it out to Gui in the morning!

Cool. I've got a feeling I'm not going to get any good riding conditions for quite sometime but I'd like to give the board a try at least. Maybe just ride down a small hill (aka road embankment). I need east wind and low tide to ride ATBs around here.

After the storm gets through with us there might not be much beach left!

I would like to be fourth DaVinch! My other one is broke. Darn kids Some how cracked the board I don't trust it anymore. So if I like it it may not make it back home if the price is right.:saint: Just looked a that one very nice! The one I have I got cheap very well used so it doesn't even compare. Everyone is excited to be able to try a new one! Once again This forum and the people on it are so cool. I have got to try out so many different varieties of kites and stuff I don't know how much money I have saved And it really helps to get what you want the first time. So yes 4th on the list please.:borg:

No wind  so I did some tow boarding
IMO It seems to be a good board. It's really easy to control.
but again I didn't had any riding with the kite.

Looking forward to get some wind :cool2:

What is your guys low end with a landboard ? (and on soft sand:)

Bummer about no wind. Hope it picks up for you.

I can only ride on hardpack sand on the beach. Low end is around 5 mph wind with a Blade III 10.5.

I don't think there has been any wind here in Florida for Gui to try the board out yet. He mentioned he would mail it out just after T-day weekend.
I am looking forward to trying a lighter weight, shorter board than my Flexi Kava.
The only thing that is worrying me is it is so light compared to my Kava I might be tempted to do more jumps....:puzzled:

Unfortunately landboarding season is over in Florida. There is occasional good days but not many. I might not get a chance to even ride it while it is with me:no:

I've not heard from Gui yet but it's barely after T-day. Yesterday I had fun (barely 7mphish wind) on my landboard then the wind died and I had to walk home.

Gui-maybe the wind will cooperate this weekend and you can cruise over here. Low tide this coming Saturday is at 0.7 feet which is good and occurs at 7:00am and then around 7:00pm. The lowest low tide around here is around -0.7 feet it doesn't get much better than 0.7. Night riding is no problem over here as well. If the weather holds there is a good possibility of east winds this weekend and during the later part of the week.

See ya-Scott

MBS Comp 90 demo

I picked up the MBS Comp 90 this morning and have it all setup to ride. Just gotta wait for the wind to change directions. The forecast is for east winds tomorrow. If it's not east wind I'll go find a hill somewhere:puzzled: Not as easy as it sounds around here.

The board looks good but I've got a feeling the tires are going to be to small for the beach. It's also not a cruiser type board from it's looks compared to my Flexifoil Kava. The Kava looks comfortable to ride while the MBS looks like it will be a bit more stressfull to ride.

This is the first board I've had with the ratchet type bindings. I don't know if they are going to work for me. I don't wear shoes while riding on the beach. I tried getting the bindings go get small but I couldn't get them as small as I would like. I will probably have to wear a pair of shoes with this board.

The next person in line is going to have a greasy board to deal with. I have to cover all metal parts in WD40 and thick waterproof grease to have the board survive on the beach. I've learned this the hard way living next to the beach for almost 10 years. Everything has to be covered in grease. I've learned to deal with it. Just grease it up after every ride and your good to go, hence the WD40 cans.

I can't wait to try the board.

Scott
