so i have an idea similiar to the kite canoe idea.
my roomate has an old school kayak called a Klepper, which is a really cool design, its made from canvas with a wood frame, so it is collapsable down
to a duffel bag.
It is really stable due to inflatable pontoons, so we were thinking of seeing if we could kite with it. (kleppers already have sail attachments,
people have even crossed the atlantic in them!)
its a double kayak, so one person to fly the kite and the other to steer? who knows...
there is a shallow and easily swimmable bay near my roomie's house, so maybe there would be good for a first attempt.
