Rage, what the hell was that about, I advise you not to go out without bricks to hold your kite down, my ground peg came out and now my dyneema lines are ruined, whatta mess! If anyone here is good at untangling gives us a shout, looks like I’m up for a night in, I’m now blaring some old sckool Papa Roach if you can here it give us a wave!!!

Unfortunately if seem to have a lot of experience untangling four line sets.

I keep a couple of plastic figure 8 winders just for this. I start by untying one end of a line generally at the handle. It does make any difference which one you do. You then untangle the line winding up as you go it can take sometime if the lines were tensioned while messed up. After you get that one done and up at the kite bridle undo the other line from that handle and wind up that line on another winder. This one will go a lot faster because the lines are looser. Now you just have two lines on one handle and they can be untangled very easy. Unwind the two lines and re hook them and you are ready to go.

It just occurred to me that this may be on a bar which should work the same way but you might need a third winder to do one of the last two lines.

Be patience doing the first line it can be a real challenge but the others go fast. I have done this inside my camper so you don’t need to have a lot of room. I have always re hooked them when I can lay the lines out.

Good idea about the winders.

remember to gently pull the loops in your wad of line so that they get bigger and looser, and they will more likely just fall apart.

I had a mess on Sunday. I was zipping about with the 1.5 Profoil and my left power line larkshead came loose at the kite end. Then under all its tension, it sprung back towards me while the kite was in a death spiral heading to the ground. It took a half hour to take the lines off my left handle and get everything separated. Having at least one winder would've made the job much easier as I traced the twisted looped mess from handle to kite. The usual tactics don't work so well when you have real tangles caused by an unattached line mingling with twisted attached lines.
