Vancouver Island?

First weekend in May I'll be in Qualicum Beach. Anyone know of any flying around there that I might be able to meet some more kiters?

When the tide is out there is lots of sandy beach at Parksville, just south of Qualicum.

Check this link for conditions http://www.bigwavedave.ca/ColumbiaWS.htm

Let me know what you find, I'll be there in mid June for a wedding and hope for south-easterlies and no rain.

The beach at Rathtrevor Provincial Park, just south of Parksville is huge at low tide. Not sure what the regs are concerning kite buggies.
You picked a good weekend. Tides are moderately low 4' Sat 3' Sun. The low tides are at 11 and 11:30 respectively. It should not be too crowded until the May long weekend. The beach faces SE. A bunch of us from Vancouver are looking at a Parksville WE sometime in the spring, we have not got that far in our planning yet. Watch for details at PowerKiteCanada

Parksville is the space to be, good size beach for kitebuggying. I learned to kiteboard there as well with the shallow warm water (knee deep). Maybe PKC should plan something around May weekend. Keep you posted.
