Using a Pansh ACE for Buggying
Is this even possible?
Has anyone had any experience buggying with a Pansh ACE? - they have an AR of 4.6 which in my books is relatively high. Does this mean it will
generally go upwind easier than say a PLynn Pepper with a lower Aspect Ratio?
There is a higher aspect kite known as the 'AirlinS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-, but as far as im aware, they dont make them in 7m + sizes.
Still cannot justify the procurement of Ozone Yakuzas etc - Mortgage needs paying and Kids need to be fed etc etc.
Ive gotta say I was very impressed with the build quality of a 5m Ace I flew today (not the lines or handles though) - and its priced so damn well !

I am still new to the buggy scene but, there is no way I am using my Ace for buggying! Just taking the kite from low in the window to the zenith is
asking for an out of buggy experience! Too much lift and little control over stopping it.

I'm sure there are those out there that would embrace the lift of the ace with a seatbelt on a buggy, but not me. You would be sure to get separated
the first time you pulled it up high to "slow down".

I have a 8m Ace and have used it for buggying a few times without problems. You just have to watch where you put it in the window and not send it too
fast towards the zenith. I haven't flown the Pepper, but the Ace does OK upwind and I would guess it does better than the pepper.

I'm also new to the buggy. I tried with my 3.5m ace and I couldn't stay in the seat. Next time I will be pulling out the legends and try again. I can
see that with some experience and a seat belt the ace + buggy = FUN !!

Yes your Ace will go upwind like a rocket compared to the Pepper, which is a great kite but with different design objsectives.
I had a chance to set up my Blade 4.9 next to BeamerBob's Ace the a few weeks back and we couldn't help but notice the similarities in design.
What size Ace? As stated by others above, too large a kite like that in a gust above and you will OBE for sure. In smoother winds it will pull like
a truck dowm low in the window.
I use my Blade 4.9 in lighter smooth coastal winds for upwind work

I have been buggying with my ace 6.0 for a while, and finding turning an adrenalin rush. bringing the kite high before the turn delivers, a massive
pull. Fortunately I built my buggy with a wide rear axle for stability, and I need it.
I think 80% of my problem is probebly inexperience.

I flew a 5m in 12-16 mph winds in a buggy my 2nd time in one it wasn't all that bad. I think it comes down to your level of flying experience and what
you are use to. But it was only the 2nd time I hade been in my buggy and I got crusing pretty fast and only one O.B.E. It wasn't that bad.

Angus that Ace was the pass the Ace of Davinch's in 5m size and yes, I remember noting the similarities between the blade and ace. Also, when you use
your blade with the buggy, don't you set it to one of the lower lift settings? The ace doesn't have that option. It is set to "go" all the time. I
noticed the AR is 4.53 on the ace and 5 for the blade. I wish I had a buggy and could experiment with all this stuff but maybe soon. My 6m Ace seems
a little slow to turn. I guess that would be a good thing in the buggy but I'm not sure. I can tell it would be happy to fill the tow truck role.

I picked up the 5m Ace because I couldn't believe the price point. I already had the 4.5 Bullet and am happy with it as a buggy engine. I have only
taken the ace out with the buggy once. It did lift a bit more when moving fast but my 3 is good for that as well.
As mentioned I just adjust my riding style. Trying to work it lower and avoid putting it up high at speed. That's a good habit to get in to anyway. I
would avoid saying a 5m Ace is a BAD buggy kite. That would be a bit like saying the 4.9 blade is.
What I WOULD say is that the 4.5 Bullet is a BAD jumping kite !!! I think it will remain my buggy engine for now though. I'm glad I got the 5m Ace for
my boards and blades + learning to jump. So no regrets.
