Anyone in Ohio?
Copied from old forum:
August 29 2002 by tim
Love to ski, love to fly kites....really want to try kite skiing. Those trips to Colorodo are expensive!
From what I have read, a q2004 is the way to go, can I get some feedback on that? Are there any other suggestions? Skytiger? Flexfoil?
I am in southern Ohio and wondering if there is anyone nearby who is into this.

It's a good stabile flying power kite for moderate to strong wind. An excellent kite for beginner to intermediate power kiters.

Get up to Lake Erie often? There is a big group up there that kiteskis on the frozen lake every Feb 14th for the past 10+ years.
Lee Sedgewick puts it on, but I only have Steve Shapson's email at the moment. He would know something about it... force10@execpc.com
I'll try to find some more info and post it here.

I'm not who originated this thread, but I'm in Columbus, OH, and originally from Cinci with all my family still there. So I get down there
often.
I'm just getting into power kiting and looking for places to do it.
From what I understand the group in Toledo also does buggies as well as winter skiing, but I haven't had the opportunity to get up there yet. But
their web site is:
http://www.bsaf.org/
There is also a kite group in Cleveland, but I don't know if they do buggies.

If anyone is in the Ohio vicinity and wants to get together and fly and/or knows where the best places around here are, let me know!

Well I'm on the hunt for good places close by to use my new buggy and kites. For me, close is anything with about 3 hrs of Columbus, i.e.
anywhere in ohio or close bits of surrounding states. I've heard that Maumee Bay State Park in Toledo is a nice site. (That's where the
Black Swap Air Force kite group meets.)
I'm thinking of making a trip to somewhere on lake Erie soon, with the goal of breaking out the buggy. If anyone has suggestion or would like to
get together and play I'd love to. Just drop me an e-mail at cbrown10@columbus.rr.com
