pre event for primm based travellers

I am hopeing to do day trips to some of the other lakes closer to primm before the official event, So for the people that arrive early( buggy camp can be pretty sparse before the organizers show up on tuesday). Maybe meet up at a certain time at a certain meeting place and convoy with a person that can show the way to the lake, buggy have fun, BBQ a hot dog, have a few beers maybe race a bit have a story to tell about after.(Is the silver six looking to take on any new members.) Is there any permits needed to use the other lakes.

I remember Bob Hogan used to take care of this. It was his 5 lake challenge I remember about my first trip in 2002 along with my first experience racing and the team enduro into the dark.

Here are my suggestions which can be changed just wanted to start somewhere

Superior -friday or saturday both? been there got lost, eventually made it. should be able to find it again. if I remember right 2+ hour drive from primm

Silurian-sunday? meet at the tent 10am I hour drive?never been here, maps looks pretty easy

Jean- monday ? meet at the tent 11am 15 min drive smaller of the lakes can be chewed up pretty bad by off road racers, see what its like and decide from there any other good places?

Roach-tuesday? meet at the tent 11am (don't follow Eric B)

Is there interest in getting a plan together for day travellers that are using primm as home base?

cheers
Jim

currently we plan on meeting at Elmers thurs-fri, then being at Superior from sat to tues morning.....

for any who have not done the five lake challenge, everyone should have a chance to do it once. we still have patches for those who want to join the club, but will not have an official presence on these lake beds as we are trying desperately to have our own Claxton join us for pre=event one time(he's never been able to do the whole thing!)

secret note: many hot riders will be with us at Superior! shhhhhhhh

Looks like Kelci and I "may" be coming down earlier than originally thought. If everyone is going to be at Elmers Thurs and Fri, we'll try to arrive in Adelanto Weds night and come out to Elmers Thurs morning. Is the plan to move on to Superior Saturday morning? If so, sounds good!

See everyone on the playa,
Morrie and Kelci

He guys. I'm gonna be in vegas till sunday mor. and am looking for a place to landboard before the event too. Why can't you use ivanpah before the official start date? In any event, i'm game to hit another spot. It is my first time to the dry lakes and i want to make the most of it. i can hardly wait:singing:

Welcome Matthew! The land sailers hold their event the week before ours at Ivanpah, so we try to stay out of their way by visiting other lakebeds. Besides, Superior easily lives up to it's name. It's a must see. (El Mirage is awesome too when not overcrowded).

If you can't catch a ride to Superior, you can always board at Roach, or Jean lakebeds just to the North of Primm.

Anyway, me, Joe, Susan, and Brad will all be at Superior sometime Saturday the 29th.

Hey Matt,

I'm going to El Mirage for the pre-event and then making the trek to Ivanpah..Hadn't thought about visiting any other lake beds but let me know what your final plans our...I'm going to bring my landboard and buggys. Got plenty of days off work just have to reserve them now. You're going to love the lake beds!
