Blade 8.5
I am thnking of getting a bigger kite for those low wind days. The ones when I get the 4.9 in the air and not much is happening except pumping the
thing to keep it up. Would a Blade 111 8.5 be too big a step? I am quite confident getting 6ft airs using a bar and harness with the 4.9. In higher
winds, the 4.9 is really eratic when the wind gusts. One minute nothing, the next, bye bye terra firma! I heard the 8.5 in low winds will be more
stable and give me good air, but I don't want to kill myself

This theory is correct. It is safer to kite jump on days with
a lighter breeze using a large kite than a high gusty wind with a small kite. The large kites offer more dependable support. Just be careful not to go
so big that you can rarely use the kite. My largest land foil is roughly 9sqm, but I get more use from my 7sqm. Of course each kite model performs
differently, hopefully some Blade owners can provide some advice on the 8.5.
