New Kitewing/Dirtsurfer speed record
Two days ago out at Ivanpah I managed what has eluded me for many months now, the 50 m.p.h benchmark. Because of the Northerly winds I had to cut it
short and after the ride I discovered my wheels were only at 40 p.s.i. instead of 80 p.s.i. Had it been higher p.s.i and a more favorable wind
direction , I am sure I could've of made it higher, but I am happy nevertheless.
As far as I know, it's the fastest landboard speed with any kind of wind driven engine, but I could be wrong and feel free to correct me.
If you think it\'s hard explaining HOW something works, try explaining WHY it doesn\'t work.
Sportin\' a Kitewing Monofilm Rage 5.5 (my go to sail), Kitewing Dacron IV8
10m Flysurfer Psycho 2 (incoming and my wallet outgoing), 5m PKD Buster, 4.8 NPW, 3.6m Ballistic Burner, 3m Skytiger, 2.1m Little Devil, 1m IMP
Surfin\' the dirt on a 16\" Flexi Freestyle Dirtsurfer with Hookworms, MBS F3 bindings, Dakine stomppads, and a custom Trampa deck (my go to
board)
20\" GP-X Dirtsurfer
16\" GP Freestyle Dirtsurfer

Of course, your record is safe with me...I think if I got up to 20mph, I'd be carving up wind to drop my speed!

Lunchbox, I ll have demo wings at NABX. 20 mph on a MTB would scare me too! However, the dirtsurfer is barely kicking up a sweat at that speed. For
me, anything below 20 mph isn't that much fun unless I am jumping. Remember, on the DS, the faster you go the more stable it becomes. I'll have
dirtsurfers for demo at NABX also so you can give it a go if you"re so inclined

There was a thread sometime back on the fastest ATB speeds on the flexi forum. 50 was the benchmark they were aiming for. I think, but could be
wrong, that someone got over 52.
Either way, your accomplishment is great. way to go!!

Awesome, that's moving no matter what you're on, on 2 wheels though it's way more impressive.
Looking forward to trying one of these beasts out at NABX.
Out of curiosity, what is the limiting factor on these things, I know with the land boards they seem to start getting sketchy at high speeds, The
dirtsurfer should be way more solid.
Sysmic S1 Buggy.
0.7m / 1.4m / 2.0m PKD Buster I
4.4m PKD Buster
10m JoJo RM+

Was that on a Dirtsurfer strictlycarved?
My top on the Dirtsurfer is only 30 mph on a grass field and it felt really fast
I'm still stuck at 49.9 mph on skis...
