These are the best commercial pads availible I would strongly recommend them. http://the187.com/
My neighbor has 3 kids who are all professional skateboarders. This is the gear they wear. Here is their website: http://www.timelineskateboards.com/

Get the best pads you can.

I am going to be getting better knee pads soon as well. I've seen some nice ones that also have shin protection a bit like hockey pads.
Can folks comment on these ? Are they from the BMX world ? Motocross ?

I bang my shins a bit when going ATB.

The ones for 187 look more comfy. I got elbo And knee pads from a moto shop So they have shin and forearm protection. Maybe a little much but not if I have an o.b.e at 30!:borg:

There is a difference between common sense and common kite sense. One should come naturally the other with experience. Did you get the u2u I sen cha? are you going to Nabx this year?

I couldn't afford a full face helmet right now. I can't afford a head injury either. But I did get a good cap. And put on some cool vinal stickers. So I am happy with it.

I'm picking up a mountain board soon so I knee to invest in some elbow and knee pads (I have helmet). It looks like the Six Six One and 187 get high reviews on this forum.

The Six Six One stuff looks more comfortable and since I'll be using the board on fields and packed sand at the beach I'm wondering if the hard plastic shells on the 187's are really necessary or if they are overkill.

Any other recommendations on knee/elbow pads out there and online retailers where I could pick up up at a good price?
