Handles on Speed ( flysurfer )

My manuals talk about being able to fly the Speed and Pulse on handles. Unfortunately it only gets a mention.

I'm thinking about giving this a try on the 7m Speed. It's slightly confusing to me ? What would I do with the FDS ?

Has anyone tried Flysurfers on handles ? Any advantages or diadavatages ?

Can anyone go into a little detail on how to hook them up ?

I was thinking about doing that today in this disgusting lack of wind while there is snow on the ground.

The FDS will really be annoying. I was considering just connecting it to either brake bridal, and let it just hang with slack. Another option would be to connect it to a harness in case of emergency.

I need to re read my manual! You can remove your FDS bridle and line but have you tried flying unhooked? Your 7m Pulse at 15 kts is awesome unhooked! Just tweek the trimmer down to around 3/4 depowered and you should have a blast (if the winds are up a bit but not too much). The FDS and leash will save you if needed!

There's a guy out at the lake that flies his on handles. Next time I see him I'll try to send him this way or see if I can get the answer to relay.

I'd imagine on handles it would be easier to fly on a lake. quicker turns, easier to fly in a small place. I'd be afraid to get into a lake with my Speed, it turns too slow, and I'm not used to it.

snowbird... you'd have to completely remove the FDS for handle use. its easy to do, just don't lose any parts.

should fly fine on stroped handles

Humm, seems like a ton of work but I'll give it a try on a light wind day.

i'll only recommend the handles on the 7m speed 1.5.... the 10m has too much sheeting/bar-travel to where the handles wouldn't do much for braking.
